Rare New2cruise2022 Posted December 30, 2023 #1 Share Posted December 30, 2023 I’ve had no problem adding cash to my stateroom account on other cruise lines. It was add at customer service (there were limits for how much per transaction) but then when the final bill was settled, the cash paid instead of all going to card. I know I still need a card on file, but I like using cash. Any experiences or tips that I should know with Princess in regard to this?

On embarkation day, I go to guest services and tell them I want to use cash instead of the card. They have a paper that I sign. I’ve had no problems at all doing this.
JF - retired RRT Posted December 30, 2023 #3 Share Posted December 30, 2023 I've never done it, but others report that they do it with no issues. Not sure if there's a limit. You can just check when you board. BTW: isn't that a lot of cash to carry around?
Rare Rick&Jeannie Posted December 30, 2023 #4 Share Posted December 30, 2023 You *should* be able to apply any gift cards that you have in the same manner (at guest services desk.)
Rare New2cruise2022 Posted December 30, 2023 Author #5 Share Posted December 30, 2023 Thanks! Great to know from both of you. The cash is hundreds, not thousands. I like it because I can stay disciplined on my spend.
Clampram Posted December 31, 2023 #6 Share Posted December 31, 2023 Am I missing something here? Isn't it just as easy to load cash onto your cruise personalizer pre cruise which will be there to spend when you board??

Some use actual currency so their credit/debit accounts don't get hit. So, yes it is easy pre-cruise, but it's not the same.

They're not going to come looking for you!
