Anyislandwilldo Posted January 1 #1 Share Posted January 1 Going on a Mediterranean cruise with stops in Turkey, Greece and Italy. We plan on visiting some local restaurants to indulge in some European Cuisine. We have no idea what prices are like overseas. What kind of dollar amount should we allow for eating out? We won't be visiting any upscale restaurants, just local fare. Our budget is more like $$, if that helps. Thanks in advance.
CruiserBruce Posted January 1 #2 Share Posted January 1 Figure on $10-20 per person for casual lunches, more if alcohol is desired, although alcohol won't be as expensive as in the US, in relative terms. You can easily go higher at nicer places.
Rare marazul Posted January 1 #3 Share Posted January 1 (edited) For wine, order a carafe of house wine. Frequently the choice is just white or red. 😁 The wine will always be a decent or even very good wine. Local fare. Thanks in advance. if you go on toTripadvisor, there are various filters you can use to narrow down the choices, and price per head is one of the filters. You will see some dining options are marked $$$$, some $$$ and some $$ although there are additional categories. You can also read reviews which might help you decide and locations are shown too. stops in Turkey, Greece and Italy. You didn't say which ports, but if one of your Italian stops is Naples, pizza is the #1 dish of choice, and in the city where pizza was first invented, it is sold in hundreds of places and it really would be difficult to find anything less than the perfect pizza in Naples.
