Two Wheels Only Posted January 5 #2 Share Posted January 5 Do you want to communicate from one person on the ship to another person on the ship or do you want to communicate from the ship to the outside world?

Two Wheels Only Posted January 5 #4 Share Posted January 5 (edited) The app has a chat feature (it's like texting). You can text back and forth once you are both signed into the ship's Wi-Fi. You may have to add him (there is a "+" symbol to add recipients) when you first hit the chat button on the top right. To add him, you can enter his name and stateroom number or scan his QR code that's on his card or on his app. He has to accept your request. You can put your phone in airplane mode then turn on Wi-Fi. Once added, just tap on his name and text like you normally would. He'll get the text a few seconds after you send it. xcell Posted January 5 #7 Share Posted January 5 (edited) Just get WhatsApp or Line app or any other messaging services that use wifi. Set it up before cruising, rest it out....I think that would be easier than using the MSC app. Edited January 5 by xcell

Does the app alert you with any sort of notification that you have a message? I won’t have an internet package on my upcoming trip and messaging using the MSC for me app may be the only way to contact others on the ship. Av8tor Posted May 25 #9 Share Posted May 25 I not sure, but I don't recall there being a notification of a received message on the MSC app but that might be because I hadn't given that app the proper permissions on my phone to do so. Perhaps somebody else will chime in about that...
