Can OBC be used to pay mandatory gratuity?

Recommended Posts

When you board the OBC will be a credit in your on board account(s). Each day the daily gratuity and any other on board charges will post to your on board accounts. The account will have a running net balance. Once the credit amount is used up the accounts will move into plus territory.

So yes, OBC can and is used to pay the daily gratuity as well as any other on board expenses until it is gone. It's automatic.

I have $200 of OBC (casino offer); if I don’t pay the mandatory gratuity up front can I let them charge my cabin and it’ll take up my OBC?

There is no mandatory gratuity 😉

In the Uk there is a TA who is offering gratuities,Wi Fi and drinks up to $15 included in the fare.

I have just changed from our favourite cruise line as they have stopped All Included.

Thanks for the info… my point was that Crew Appreciation is not mandatory on Princess.

If you purchase one of the plus or premier fares it includes the gratuity. You can not remove it. If you purchase the standard fare then you are charged for the daily gratuity and it can be removed by visiting passenger services.
