Hello ConnieTact,

thank you for your very detailed report, we step up in YC tomorrow in Genoa. We're very excited, because of your journey and because the ship is new to us.

Maybe we'll meet each other on another journey, world tends to get tiny - especialy for cruise-addicts like us. 😉

That would be great @Mezqal I love meeting people through doing my live reports. If you have half the enjoyment that I did you will have a blast! Prepare to get treated well! Have you sailed YC before?

This is our 12th YC-Cruise. We were only one time outside YC and it was a mess - to many folks from southern europe with all the "fun" that comes along with that ppl. Outside YC you have no opinion to get a break from the loud madness that every time starts when thousands and thousands of raised temperamentful mediterranean ppl come along. Don't get ne wrong, i like italy, bit i need a space that is more quiet and slow. YC is the only way to travel with MSC comfortable.

I definitely agree on a Med cruise but it can be okay, with a drinks package, in a balcony cabin that is comfortable to retire to when things get too much.

My suggestion to anyone who really wants a quiet comfortable place to sit and read a book would be the Polo Raj Tearoom. The teas can be included with some packages and the seats are comfortable and at times it’s almost empty! It is usually British in there as we do like our tea!
The venue has an ambience comparable with serenity of YC but I would not stay in there if Olga was playing piano-as she misses lots of notes and is hard to listen to! 😅

If you do go in there please tell Shennoy that Connie Tact says hello and that you read about him online! He was so pleased I had included him in my report.

Another solid live, thanks.

Welcome back to the UK weather.

Our last Virtuosa in cattle we found getting out early evening most venues were quiet and pleasant, after late dinner you had to deal with most places busy in party mode.

Prefer YC but can't always find the deal.

Thanks for your kind words. Yes, the deals are getting scarce now! 😅

Some people used the pool. It was much warmer when we went south to Valetta, around 16°.
The last day, in Barcelona, it rained so we had some days that were ok for swimming in YC pool. There is another pool that anyone can access and that was undercover and busy at times. There was also a shallower children’s pool.

You never know in the Med in January but often there are some good days.

Though more than 7 months late to the party, I have thoroughly enjoyed catching up on your review.  Thank you for all the great detail and wonderful pictures.

I have just a few questions, if I may...

1.  How does one obtain tickets to the speak easy?

2.  It the grill on the YC pool deck self-serve buffet style or must one place an order?

3.  You mentioned a second restaurant for YC on your embarkation day on a different deck? or did I misunderstand?

We have booked a YC suite on World America for 2026 and I have a little concern about not getting as exclusive service due to size of ship/YC areas as we have on other MSC ships.  We will be sailing over our Thanksgiving holiday so I am expecting a full ship as well.  Your experience has given my mind some ease.  Thank you!

1. 🤐!!!!

2. Yes! See post #41

3. We ordered and it was brought to us. I recommend going to main restaurant if possible though as food and service was better.

I wouldn’t worry about the size. I had some of the best service ever, in this YC even though it was bigger. It all boils down to who is YC Director and which butlers you get. At the time we sailed, this was a very well run YC.
Thanks for your kind words. I hope you enjoy your time onboard World America.

I just decided to reread your review in anticipation of our cruise next month. Great review and I’m even more excited now (if that is even possible).

Quick question - our boarding time is listed at 1:00pm but I’m assuming we can board earlier being in Yacht Club. Is that correct? Do you remember what time boarding generally starts?

We were heading to get there to board at 10am but because of my misadventure with my not so missing ‘lost’ phone, which delayed us….we didn’t board check in until 10.30! 😅 boarding is usually from 10am in YC so go along when you’re ready! I’m sure you’ll feel very welcomed. I’m glad I helped make you even more excited! Enjoy every minute!
We will be boarding YC on MSC Seaview on Friday next week and as it is such a similar itinerary, I read through my notes too! Always handy so I don’t book the same excursion twice in error! We haven’t been on that ship before so it will be good to try that class out too.
I think I may do a live report from that ship too as I haven’t read one and would have liked to.
