wonderpig Posted January 15 #1 Share Posted January 15 We're sailing on the Ruby to hawaii in September....first stop is Maui, so........1) where is the cruise port and 2) is there any decent places for touristy shopping near the port. I do see the maui mall but is that anywhere near the port??
CruiserBruce Posted January 15 #2 Share Posted January 15 The Maui Mall is about the closest thing to the port, which is Kahalui. A little map work would be beneficial. A look at Google Maps actually shows Pride of America at the dock.
KeepCalmBearOn Posted January 17 #3 Share Posted January 17 The Maui Mall isn't really a mall for tourists. The tourist mall is the Queen Ka'ahumanu Center.
Astro Flyer Posted January 27 #4 Share Posted January 27 In the Maui Mall there is the tasty frozen treat shop run by a local family for over a century…Tasaka Guri Guri. Only $1.80 for 2 ono-Lucious scopes…pineapple or stawberry. 😋 https://onolicioushawaii.com/tasaka-guri-guri/
Rare BermudaBound2014 Posted January 31 #5 Share Posted January 31 (edited) If you are going to be there on a Saturday the Maui Farmers market is in walking distance from the only working port in Maui (Kahalui). If your itinerary shows Lahania you will not be docking there and the Pride of America gets priority in Kahalu. The market is Across the street from Queen K mall and next to the university. Lots of great stuff much made by locals. Edited January 31 by BermudaBound2014

A fun way to spend a morning.
