how strict are the check in time slots you need to pick , went on to see check in time to arrive and there was nothing until after 2 pm , 4 hours after we check out of our hotel  !! Have not had that problem before .

Varies by port, but unlikely to be enforced.

3 cruises in the last 18 months, Port Canaveral somewhat enforced, Port of Los Angels strictly enforced, and Seattle not enforced at all.  What port are you sailing from?  But even with my past experiences, I bet it is different from week to week.

Are you in a suite by any chance?  If so, you can check in any time.

What about the NewJersey/NY one?

I sailed from Miami - they put everyone into different "pens" for want of a better word, based on their check in time. I was down for 11am and was on the ship for 10:15am which was amazing! 

 

I presume if you're down for 2pm and you're there at 11am then they'll clear the other pens first and then get you on. Remember, some 11am ones won't show til later.

Reports won't come in until she moves there in May but enforcement will likely be very lax.
