Happy Hour

Recommended Posts

We haven't cruise since right before the shut down.  If I remember,  Red Frog had a fish bowl for a discounted price at embarkation and the casino bar used to have happy hours.  Are there any happy hours at any of the bars now? We'll being sailing on the Magic in May.

Bottles of wine are half off in the Steakhouse on the first night. I might have read somewhere that sometimes the MDR also provides does this on some ships, but I don't know how true that one is.

I thought you got a free bottle of wine at the steak house on embarkation night.  Apparently a lot has changed in the 4 years since we cruised.

You can get a free bottle of their lowest price wines, or half off another bottle. That hasn't changed.

The time I went to the Steakhouse on embarkation night on the Freedom, they said wine bottles were half off, but failed to mention that the lowest priced one would be free. Interesting. Probably did that on purpose.

In any case, that's certainly good to know for next time!

When we cruised on Sunshine in August they had half price fishbowls at Red Frog on embarkation day and they had random happy hours throughout the cruise.

Thank you.  We always enjoyed kicking off the cruise with a fish bowl in the Red Frog.  The last time we were there, they were out of fish bowls and the were serving drinks in pitchers.

To be more specific, your options for the free bottle are Chardonnay or Cabernet from Santa Helena, their house wine.

Red Frog Pub had 1 Happy Hour in the middle of a 5 day cruise at Christmas. Caribbean cocktails and Caribbean beer (which I think was really Mexican) was 1/2 price. It wasn't everything.

This deal isn't a company wide thing.  I am pretty sure it varies from ship to ship.  I have taken six Carnival cruises on five different ships in the past year, and none of them had happy hours or half price fish bowls at Red Frog Pub - and I always check, because I have seen them on other cruises.
