Video Poker Games in the casino

Recommended Posts

I was wondering which video poker games RCCL has in the casino. On their website they list Jacks or Better and Superstar Poker as the games they have.

Is this their entire list? If it is does anyone remember which versions they had of Jacks?

My wallet and wife thank you in advance...

They have a range of poker from Jacks or better to Joker Poker. The Superstar can be used for single or multi-hands. And all denominations.

Hubby and I are video poker players and we've been on many RC cruises. Usually, they will have several SuperStar machines, which play a variety of single or multi-hand games. Then they will have a few single line games. Usually some on the smoking side and some on the non-smoking side. Pay tables are bad. We know better than to play on a ship but we always do!?!?

Superstar machines have straight poker, super times pay, ultimate-x, spin poker.

And most will have jacks or better, bonus poker, double double, deuces wild, etc. The usual games. Rarely we see triple double.

Avoid Voyager.   Set up for Chinese cruises and no video poker.

On Liberty they have around 6 Superstar machines.  Single line quarter Jacks or better actually pays double for two pair.  Unusual on cruise ships.

For single line JoB, where you get hammered is on the Full House/Flush payout. On a cruise ship, anything lower than 8/5 makes it unplayable and 6/5 is very common. I've never seen even pay for two pair in a JoB game anywhere.

That has changed.   On the general Voyager FB group someone posted photos from the most recent cruise of some video poker machines on it.

We took a short 4-day cruise on Voyager in December and it was my least favorite casino experience at sea yet. Very crowded, weird layout. There's a whole side of the casino walled off that was apparently a high-limit area when it was in Asia that is now just empty (which leads to the rest of the casino being so cramped). I'm sure at some point they'll open that up which will be a big improvement.

The day we boarded we found: 3 ANCIENT single line games by the bar that were turned off. And, 5 new-looking super star machines against one wall that were non-operational. I think they had just been brought on and they hadn't had time to get them set up yet. We found a host and complained about there being zero video poker on board....they didn't seem too concerned but later that night they "turned on" the 3 by the bar. My husband played there some, but i love playing multi-line games so for me there was no vp at all. I played blackjack and a few slots. Saved me some money that weekend!

I'm sure by now those machines are up and running.

Just got off Navigator b2b and did save some money.  They use to have the whole side wall of poker machines, not anymore.  They put new penny slots there and moved a few poker machines over to the corner near the ladies room. Of the eight machines 6 worked all the time , another became available somewhere near day 8 for me.  Every night myself and others would rush down after dinner to find them full.  I ended up not gambling 4 out of 11 days.  Only partially on 3 other nights cause I  went back down after 11 pm.  Just don't  understand why they took them out.  By the way Penny slots were never full.
