Pool chair hogs on Explora

Saw a video  on utube that gave a tour of ship on an at sea day on Explora Journey. It showed the pools that looked somewhat crowded, and most if not all of the lounge chairs looked occupied. What has been your experience with being able to secure a lounge chair on a nice day. Does Explora Journey have an issue with chair hogs or are there enough lounge chairs to accommodate those that want them?

There are plenty of pools and lounge chairs on Explora.  I was just on B2Bs and did find on the more crowded segment that there were a few chair hogs reserving some of the better locations in the shaded areas.  But at no point after having breakfast were we unable to locate lounges in our preferred location at the Conservatory.

If you are not concerned with shade there are many, many open loungers at all times.

The one chair/lounger problem, we noticed on EJ1, is the very limited seating at the all weather Conservatory Pool area.  There are plenty of loungers/chairs scattered all over the upper decks.  The problem of finding chairs in shady areas seems to exist on every ship (more then 70) we have cruised.

I saw the video and was thinking the same thing. Does not seem to be enough loungers in the conservatory area, and I would think it would be tough to find loungers there especially if the weather is not ideal and the sip is full. Lots of sofa like seating.

It’s sad and a poor reflection on the ignorance of some people that even on a luxury line that some pax feel they need to hog pool chairs. If everyone left them empty when not in use, there would likely be no issue with finding one when needed.

We were on that sailing and the prior one.  In fact, my wife was in that Jerzy filming.  It was taken the last day of the cruise and was a sea day.  It was the only day we didn't get our preferred seats at the Conservatory.  With about 800 passengers on that segment a bit of chair hogging had started on the last two sea days.  During the prior journey with 650 guests there was virtually none of that nonsense.
