cdrmer Posted February 20 #1 Share Posted February 20 Have been looking at a cruise on the Sapphire Princess in the Fall of 2024. Cannot find when this ship was last dry docked, refurbished, or updated. Could you please provide some feed back on the condition of the ship. Thank you. The Sapphire went through dry dock April 2023. Mostly maintenance issues, paint, etc. She was in good shape in Nov/Dec 2023. We were on there 47 days. Great crew!

FYI, I was on the Sapphire for the Dec 1-18 LA to Santiago sailing and had a good cruise. I believe there is a current live from @Ken the cruiser, Jan 20-Feb 19. Although the Sapphire is an older ship she is well maintained and one of the 2 ships that were built in Japan, her sister the Diamond is the other. Princess started a competition a couple quarters ago among their fleet named the Princess Cup. The winner is based on the total metrics from the Cruise survey passengers receive at the end of the voyage, so it is entirely based on passenger feedback. The Sapphire has won this ‘prize’ when the competition started 2 quarters ago and again for the 2nd time in a row, so based on passenger feedback, the Sapphire has received the top spot among the fleet, so this should tell you something about the ship and it’s crew. It is an actual trophy and the ship proudly displays it currently between Crooners and the Wheelhouse. Edited February 20 by wallyj 3

We were just on it for 30 days cruising around Antarctica and a variety of South America ports and had a great time and never felt like we were cruising on a ship that had issues. Sure, there may have been some isolated issues experienced in some cabins. But that’s usually the case on most older cruise ships. But in the public areas, the ship looked quite nice and the chairs were always comfortable.

And to stay on topic, the Sapphire is hands-down, our favorite ship in the entire fleet. Edited February 20 by Bgwest

The third connector charges your device while streaming.
