Recommended Posts

It says on the site arrival at 9am....but I am thinking it is earlier than that with the latest repair???

Anyone know roughly.....want to try to get off early and order a shuttle service to pick us up....at about 9:30....am I being too optimistic???

Depends on which order the last cruise went on. If they did Mazatlan/PV last, they might be in at 9am. If they did Cabo last, they might be in a bit early.

If you do arrive early and get off the ship, I'd recommend getting an uber XL or above- a lot of drivers know that folks need transportation from the port and aren't willing to accept standard Uber rides. Shuttle services also might monitor for the arrival time if you find the right one.

Having been on 4 recent cruises on Panorama, I can say that 9:30 is a bit optimistic for having a shuttle pickup.  The ship does get in before 9:00 though.  If you choose self-assist debarkation, where you carry all of your luggage off yourself, and if you are among the first off the ship, you could make a 9:30 shuttle pickup.  If you have to pick luggage up in the terminal, I wouldn’t recommend having a shuttle arrive before 10:00.

They do know the arrival time.   It's 9 a.m., like the site says.  If you get there earlier, it's a bonus.

The trip from Cabo is relatively long, so there is a lot of things that can happen on the journey to affect the arrival time - strong headwinds, storms, etc.

Recently on the Panorama. On debarkation morning the dining room opens for breakfast at 6:30 AM and I recall watching us pull into the harbor and dock during that time.

The people doing the earliest self-debarkation were told to meet at 8:30 and were escorted off shortly after that. I was on the bus headed to the airport by 9 AM, at LAX around 9:30. This may not be typical but was my experience.

August 2023 Panorama, Mexican Riviera out of Long Beach:

Disembarkation

Breakfast this morning was the normal Vista restaurant breakfast. The six of us in our group ate a MDR breakfast together for the first time.

After breakfast, we return to our cabins to get our carry-on bags, check the safe and toiletries, etc. We are out of our cabin by 8:30 AM. The elevators to get down to the fifth floor are insane, filled with everyone with luggage which greatly reduces the capacity of the elevators.

When we get to deck five, the elevator lobby area is completely jammed with people who’ve gotten off the elevator but who have no place to go.  We are all waiting for our disembarkation groups to get called.  The idiots of Carnival have the theater locked up, which would take hundreds of passengers off the floor. I don’t know if there are special waiting areas for people with status.

By 9:00 a.m., we go out to the promenade, where there are only two other people waiting. Lots of chaise lounges are available.  At least the weather is nice for sitting outside on a chaise lounge waiting to be called.

10:00, fourth call of group numbers.  They are still calling for Express Disembarkation passengers.  Now, they are calling for Assisted Luggage Groups 4-10. We are Group 18.

I stopped checking the time.  When we (Group 18) are finally called, there are long lines to get off the ship and to get through the line.  Customs was simple, we did not even need to show our passports.  The porter helping us also helped us on our last cruise and remembered us.  I dumped our bags on ground floor of parking structure, and went to get the car.  My wife stayed with the luggage.  There were very long lines of traffic to get out of the cruise center.

I am sorry I don't have the times.

Just off Panorama on Saturday 3/9/24.. Arrival time was exactly at 7:30am. On Thursday through the Carnival Hub you were able to pick your debarkation time. Choices were luggage outside door night before and pick up in terminal or carry off starting at 8:30am and meeting on Deck 4 Vista restaurant. At 8:45 they started process and we were off ship with our luggage and at Taxi stand at 9:10am and on our way to Long Beach Airport. Fare was $40 fixed and gave a $10 tip.  We had a flight out of Long Beach at 12:30 and I was fretting missing as the alternatives were not good. Arrived Long Beach and through TSA and waiting at gate at 9:50..No problems if no hiccups!! Good Luck

Hi there, I’d be a little weary about booking something too early.  There is always that chance of a customs inspection that may delay debark. I know that rough seas prevented the panorama from entering the harbor at some point causing a late debark.  Best of luck! Safe travels.
