Eugene Al Posted March 21 #1 Share Posted March 21 We bought NextCruise booking $200 deposit on our last day of the cruise. The NextCruise agent explained us that we can use this credit with RCC or any travel agencies. When we found a great deal and decided to book a cruise it turned out that our nextcruise booking credit was not available for us since it had already been transferred from RCC to another travel agency(surprice, we didnot ask about it). We sent an email to RCC and tried to move our NextCruise credit back, but it was takibg looong time. So we made a decision to book our next cruise without this booking deposit since the deal was great. Only yesterday we got an email from RCC that our deposit is back to RCC. I'm wondering if we can stil use it towards our cruise..?... Any thoughts?...
ticketsunlimited Posted March 21 #2 Share Posted March 21 I would imagine that the would put it towards the balance of your booked cruise. You may not get the onboard credit...

Rare twangster Posted March 21 #4 Share Posted March 21 (edited) A Book Later or Future Cruise Certificate from Next Cruise is an actual booking with its own booking number. The ship is "Nextcruise" in a year like 2039. It's a placeholder but real in all manners. The system is coded to allow Royal or a TA to move the ship and sail date one-time to the ship and sail date you pick. When they do so it retains the same booking number. As such it can't be combined or merged into another booking. That would be like asking a for 2024 cruise on Symphony to be merged into a 2025 cruise on Icon. The system just doesn't allow merging two bookings into one. Edited March 21 by twangster

Rare twangster Posted March 21 #6 Share Posted March 21 Also for future reference, when you visit NextCruise or use the app to purchase a Book Later $200 future cruise by default that new booking goes to the travel agency on record for your current cruise. If you don't want that to occur you must go to NextCruise and tell them not to assign it to any travel agency. Many (but not all) NextCruise agents will identify the agency on record while sitting with you going through the process. When you use the app that doesn't happen and it defaults to the agency on record for the current cruise.

It’s still a valid booking and you should be able to use it on sailing, just not the one you booked.
Another_Critic Posted March 21 #11 Share Posted March 21 Note you have to book a specific sailing within 2 months (book, not sail) of the original Book Later booking in order to receive the NextCruise OBC. Otherwise, you have to book (not sail) within one year or you will forfeit the deposit.
