Our Grand Hawaii/French Polynesia cruise arrives in San Pedro at 7:00AM. What is the earliest safe flight-departure time from LAX?

It depends:

1.  Are you doing Viking transfers?  or on your own?

2.  Is it a weekday or a weekend?

You'll likely be off ship at 8:00 at latest then, which means if a weekday you are looking at IMHO a 12 noon earliest departure given heavy traffic to the airport.  If weekend, possibly 11 AM.

1) Likely private transfer

2) Return is on a Tuesday

What does it say on your Viking invoice?  If you don't have Viking Air, it should tell what the earliest flight time you can make is.  You may have to look on other than your final payment invoice to find the information.

You are looking for a message like this. It might not appear if Viking Air is itemized on the invoice. I had to look at three different versions of this invoice to find this.

This is just a sample. Do not rely on this for making your plans.

You do not want to be cutting it close at LAX.  Traffic into the horseshoe is always congested. Plus, the San Diego Fwy is never anything but busy.  Maybe your driver will take a different route.

You don't mention which airline you are taking.  Even that affects your travel time, as terminals 4 6 and 7 are the most difficult to get to.  Fastest into LAX is terminal 1.

I would never take a flight before noon.

We were on same itinerary Nov/Dec.  Ride from LAX to ship on a Friday was surprisingly quick, under 30 minutes with little traffic.  Coming home on a Tuesday we walked off ship at 9am just as transfer bus departed.  Called Uber and found a driver already in the parking lot.  Drive to airport in heavy traffic took an hour.  Passed transfer bus on the way.  Grabbed a bite in the United Club ahead of our 1:30 flight.

Consider flights from Orange County about the same distance.  I note that you are in Kentucky, thus Orange County or Long Beach flights would be connections, but then again depending upon location in Kentucky, LAX might not be nonstop either
