Grand Princess Window suite

Is there a problem with strong smoke smell with these cabins? They are located next to the casino. We have stayed in window suites on the Golden Princess, but they were not next to the casino. I know there is a hidden hallway with a door. I am hoping that is enough of a barrier to keep most of the smoke out of the staterooms.

Thanks so much.

We sailed on the Caribbean Princess a few years ago in a window suite close to the cigar lounge and never smelled any smoke.  I would assume it would be the same on the Grand as it has same layout.

The Caribbean Princess and the Grand Princess have completely different layouts. The Cigar Lounge is at the same location on both ships - with doors that are closed most of the time. However, the casinos are in completely different locations. On the Grand Princess, the Casino is on the Fiesta Deck adjacent to the window suites. On the Caribbean Princess, the Grand Casino is on the Promenade Deck one deck higher. The Crown Grill and Shore Excursions Desk are on the Fiesta Deck adjacent to the window suites. On the Caribbean, there are three doors to the window suite hallway - one at each end and one in the middle. On the Grand, there are only two doors - one at each end only - so you don't have the direct connection with the casino.

I've sailed several times in window suites on the Grand Princess and never had a problem with smoke from the casino in the suite or in the adjacent hallway. I have three future cruises booked on the Grand, and I'm not worried.

We stayed in one of the window suites on the Grand in 2019. We're very sensitive to cigarette smoke and had absolutely no issues at all. These suites had a private hallway, with doors that closed at the end, and that kept any smoke from getting into the hall.

We really loved these particular suites and would book them again in a heartbeat. Even though we didn't have a balcony, we could quickly pop up to the promenade on the stairs and have a huge "balcony" and fresh air whenever we desired.

We have had a window suite on the Grand twice. .   IF the door at the far end is left open too long, which happens on occassion,  I have smelled some smoke in the hallway.   Very faint.   It has never gotten in the cabin.

I'm guessing the cabin steward left the door open while working.    I have closed it a few times.

Yes you might have some smoke smell in the hallway.  Sorry guys.   It does happen but again never smelled it  in the cabin.

Only once did we get some kind of smell. Either smoke or cleaning agent.  We had to use a towel and pillow to block the door vent for the night.   That’s one night over many cruise days.
