Stay in The Hague prior to cruise from Rotterdam

Having stayed in Amsterdam and Rotterdam before and explored both extensively,we decided to stay in The Hague for 5 days this time.

Have done some research on things to do and see,but would really appreciate some input from fellow CC folks. Any advise would be helpful. We tend to do our own touring rather than going on company tours.

Also you can visit the mini Netherlands at Madurodam: https://www.madurodam.nl/en

Of course there are great museums like Mauritshuis (the girl with the pearl), Escher museum, Panorama Mesdag, Peace Palace and more.

If it’s a warm sunny day, the beaches and seaside attractions of Scheveningseweg are a quick, easy tram ride away.

And the beautiful historic towns of Delft and Leiden are only a short train ride away.

Thank you so much for the great options in The Hague! I have done some research but it is always helpful to get help from folks who have visited or are locals! 
We are staying at the Velvet Hotel ,any suggestions for reasonably priced dining options nearby?

Not the Hague, but did you visit the Keukenhof https://keukenhof.nl/en/  before? It will close at May 12th this year and I understand you will be in the right period in the Hague.  Short railway trip to Leiden and from the station with the special bus to the Keukenhof.  Enjoy your stay in the Netherlands!

Yes we have been to Keukenhof but were hoping to go again as it is so spectacular! Thanks for the transport tip.  We planned to take the train but we’re unsure of the bus transport. Is it available from Leiden train station?

Thanks for the info re location and what to look for. Hopefully we will have sunny weather in the first week of May. Looking forward to spending a beautiful day there and soaking it all in!
