NEW MUSTER DRILL FORMAT?

When in a hotel, we count the number of doorways to get to the closest emergency stairs and to the alternate exit. In the event you had to duck low or crawl to get to an exit, the number of steps would not help but you could still feel the doorways.

DW and I need to do a better job of finding secondary (the “hidden” stairway exits) when on a cruise ship and knowing how to get there, in addition to the main stairs.

Once, on a Princess ship, they had pax using both the main stairwells and the “hidden” ones for muster drill. Unfortunately, only the main stairs & elevators were available after drill.

Wonder if this has been implemented on Seashore?

From poster on Seascape
“MUSTER DRILL - new format, go at any time after boarding to have card scanned, watch video in room at any time, dial 881 from cabin phone and done.”

This is exactly what we did on Seascape in February accidently, we went to the MDR to see where I table was, this happened to be our muster station, they just asked to scan our card while we were there then watched the video and made the call once we got to our cabin.

We did this on the Seascape last month. The only thing that bothered me was that when you called the number, there was no verbal confirmation that you had successfully registered your muster.

That was my problem on the Divina in March.  We called and couldn't tell if it went through. We went to the crew and had our cards scanned. The next day, we received a terse note saying we had missed the drill.  Yeah..no.

On our last MSC cruise, we did the drill and had our cards scanned at our muster station.  Got the missed drill note, too.

On Seascape for April 20, 2024 sailing new procedure in place for muster drill. Ship cleared to board at 11 am. Butler escort to cabin stopped at our muster station to scan cards before going to cabin. Saw the no one was present yet to scan card so we proceeded to cabin to drop off carry on luggage. At 11:30 am pink ball cap scanner was at muster station to scan cards. We took the elevator down to muster station and scanned our cards and took elevators back to cabin. Then watched video to know number to call to confirm we watched video. Hang up. Done. Easiest muster drill in the cruise market today. MSC even allows for a muster check in the following day at 9:30 am in Chora theatre for those that miss embarkation day drill.

I am sailing Magnifica this weekend. Was it still the "go to your cabin at a specific time to watch the video, dial 881, and then everyone going to their muster stations at the same time to be scanned", or was it do it at any time before sailing like Seascape?
