Port Canaveral 1pm to 8pm - going to Disney Spring enough time?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Do you think there is enough time to pick up a rental car and drive to Disney Spring and back from Cruise Port? We dock at 1pm and leave at 8pm. If not, is it worthwhile to rent a car (party of 😎 and drive to Cocoa Village or should we just stay onboard the ship? Thanks.

It’s a one hour drive each way.

Assume ashore @ 1:30,

Out of rental car pickup @ 2:00

Arrive Disney Springs 3:00

Depart DS 5:45

Arrive Cape Canaveral 6:45

Shuttle to ship: 7:10

Doable, but not a bunch of wiggle room

AS FOPMan has estimated, you don't get a lot of time there. And there really isn't much to do there either. It's mostly a shopping center (with some great restaurants though). Entertainment is in the evening, the new drone show isn't until dark, the balloon ride is often closed (if you're going in summer) due to afternoon winds and thunderstorms.

Stay on the ship;)

If you plan to stay on the ship, keep an eye on spaceflightnow.com for space launches in the Port Canaveral area. Usually get a few days advance warning on time and location.

Not something we would do. A hassle just to go shopping and not much time to be there. Also, just one accident stopping traffic on the 528 and you're screwed. Remember, it's a toll road too.

suggest taking a shuttle into Cocoa BEACH, going to Ron Jon, and checking out the pier. We really like Cocoa Beach.

Cocoa is 'inland' on US-1 .... Cocoa Beach is 'beach side' as we say locally.

some local geography ....  image.thumb.png.734647c1407098b00a96902e2368c414.png

Save the Disney trip when you have more time. Seven hours isn't enough time to do anything at Disney World

Disney Springs is not like going into one of the parks ... there's no <outrageous> admission fee for one thing! So question becomes is it worth the time and expense to go to what's just a themed open air shopping center. We go there for just a few hours on occasion, but in conjunction with something that took us to Orlando for other reasons and NOT a special / dedicated trip.

I make NO recommendations .... just trying to give you some perspective so you can decide.

Wanna try something different: https://www.spacecoastslingshot.com/
