HI all, this will be our first time in Antigua. Should we choose a beach day here or do the Celebrity Cat w/lobster lunch excursion?

Would like to do a beach day at least once on this sailing but not sure which port.

If seeking a great beach experience, with superb food, drinks, service and ambiance, then consider- https://catherines-cafe.com

Additional note - No S.H.T. To be seen

The ship’s Cat. Tour will be rammed with maximum punters, to maximise profit.  But for a round the island tour, complete with Lunch, drinks, snorkel, commentary, photo opportunities.  All done with a touch of adrenaline - https://adventureantigua.com/activities/the-xtreme-circumnav/

Book early as space is limited, and very popular with stayers and cruisers

I've never been to Antigua, but if you haven't been to St. Thomas before, there are great beaches there...Megan's Bay for just laying around; Coki Beach for laying around and very good snorkeling from the beach; or ferry over to St. John and go to our favorite, Maho Beach.  Snorkeling with turtles there is fab.

You can find the ship's catamaran excursion here:

https://tropicalad.com/tours/mystic-lobster-lunch-cruise-excursion-a-catamaran-boat-tour-in-antigua

It gets good reviews.   Check on trip advisor.

I believe that the ships charter the Catamaran.

It looks like you can't make a booking on your own on the days that the ships have their excursions.

I believe it is close to the Cruise Ship....  maybe walk over.

There are YouTube videos as well.

We were going to just taxi to a beach...  but even though this is pricey, we might book.

We just got back from Antigua and did the beach day.  We got to Jolly beach early and were greeted by people renting chairs and umbrellas.  Jolly is beautiful.  Crystal clear water and soft sand.  They had drinks (6 beers for $20), a couple of vendors selling things and food available.  Looking back, we should have just stayed here but moved to Fftyes later.  While it was nice, Jolly was more of our style.

I would definitely do the Cat in Antigua.  There's lots to see from the boat and they stop at a beach too.  Then do a beach day out of St. Thomas...Ferry over to St. John.
