Same is true of chicken, turkey, and ground beef. So should we all become vegetarians?

Definitely not cooked IMO...the chef should not have gotten testy with you...that was rude.  Good you reported it...not much else you could do and at this point, I'd let it go.  JMO.  Hope hubby is feeling better.
