[Norway] is on my short list as well.

We love Alaska, have been three times, and will go again next year. I just got back from Norway, and I have to say ... it's even more impressive than Alaska. It doesn't have the wildlife, but it absolutely cannot be topped for the most incredible and out-of-this-world scenery.

The last night of our recent Norway cruise the cruise director spent 10 minutes pleading for a ten. He went on and On and ON AND ON AND ON about it. It was ridiculous.
And what's the point of sending surveys if you let employees "rig" the results? How much more effective would a survey be that said, "We hope your experience with us was a 9 or 10 and you will cruise with us again soon, BUT CAN YOU PLEASE SHARE ONE OR TWO WAYS WE COULD IMPROVE?" Now that would show a commitment to being the best!

The survey process is disappointing. If you are honest and rate something as an 8 or 9 and not a 10 then this is considered negative. An 8 or 9 would be close to perfect. Excellent. Nothing is perfect. Reporting a 10 seems disingenuous. I hope that we are not pleaded upon incessantly by crew for a 10 as this will 1) be a distraction to our vacation and 2) we will end up not completing the survey due to this.

Celebrity needs to get it better.

This has been so interesting to read about the survey pleading. We were on Beyond in April and were bracing ourselves on the last 2 nights but never heard it from anyone. We had a big problem (creaking and banging stateroom) but that kind of begging would have actually been worse to us than the noisy cabin issue.

In my experience as a retired principal, there was district leadership (Celebrity corporate) and there was local school leadership (individual ships). If something came down from the district that was required (like a survey) it was up to individual schools to create and execute a plan to fulfill the edict from the district. It wasn’t uncommon for 100 principals to have 100 different methods for achieving the same thing. It all came down to leadership. The same has to be true here. Different ships, different leadership styles. My guess is pleading for 10’s is acceptable on some ships, like Edge and not acceptable on others, like Beyond.
