Disembarking at Manhattan Cruise terminal - transport ?

We will be disembarking at Manhattan terminal (scheduled for 5:30 so I hope we can walk off by 7:00).  Do I need to order a car or will there be cabs/Uber available.  We want a ride to Penn Station to take the train the EWR.  Any suggestions?

@mugtech has explained where the taxis will be.  If you want an Uber also cross the street (12th Ave) and order one through the app.  It can be a lot easier to wait slightly off 12th Ave on a side street and order the Uber from there.

Whatever you do, do not agree to go with anyone claiming to be an Uber or taxi driver soliciting riders. NYC taxis are yellow and clearly marked as a taxi and the Uber app will identify a specific driver and vehicle when your ride is confirmed.

What is the best way to get to JFK?  We are on an NCL ship....assuming it disembarks here.

Taxi, Uber/Lyft, or car service such as Dial 7 or Carmel Limo.
