Hello, first time cruise to Europe possible in last half of October (New York City to Canada/Newfoundland, Azores, Barcelona). I well know it will be cold by then for any deckside hanging out for New England/Canada leg but will second half also mean very limited outdoor time on ship?? Thank you

October in New England / Eastern Canada is weird.
I've gone trick or treating with the kids in snowsuits, I've gone in shorts.

It may not be cold at all until you get further out from land.
But still most likely not all that cold.  Bring a decent jacket, and light gloves, and unless the weather is really poor, there shouldn't be any reason you can't spend time outside.

The Atlantic keeps much of its summer warmth until well into November (that’s why the hurricane season lasts so long). The second half, while approaching the Azores and Barcelona will almost certainly be warmer than the first.
