Marie50 Posted July 4 #1 Share Posted July 4 Are their any hotels in Vancover that offer shuttles to the cruiseport? Just trying to decide whether to stay at the airport hotel upon arrival before the cruise or go into the city. First time in Vancover. Thank you. The Pan Pacific Hotel in the terminal building itself. Another across the street. Likely around 6-7 within 2-3 blocks of the terminal. Generally the hotels in the downtown core are quite a bit more expensive than in Richmond (where the airport is).

Agree with above-- given the location of Canada Place where the pier is downtown you can stay in the pier (at the Pan Pacific mentioned above) or there are a number of hotels right next door or within a couple blocks. Fairmont Pacific Rim, Fairmont Waterfront, Auberge, Marriott, etc. Two of my personal favorites are the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver (old school hotel with classic chateau architecture) and Rosewood Hotel Georgia. But there are plenty of options for most budgets within a couple blocks of the cruise port which should make up for the fact that there aren't any shuttles. Us Americans are pretty fortunate with the current exchange rate so that brings even more into play.

None in Vancouver; there is a 'milk run' shuttle that hits many Richmond hotels (the airport ones) then heads to the port on cruise mornings, and all airport hotels have shuttles which will take you to/from the airport and also a SkyTrain station en route if the hotel isn't close enough to walk from. That indie cruise shuttle is however sheer madness to book now - prices virtually doubled since last year, so even a solo traveler might as well take a cab or Uber from an airport hotel as it costs the same! Personally I always recommend staying downtown - there's so much close to the pier to see and do, and unless you're here for several Pre/Post-Cruise nights squeezing every minute becomes crucial. The YWCA Hotel tends to be cheaper than any airport hotel despite being downtown, in a concrete tower that was renovated ~2021 and had a brand-new wing open at the same time - it's one of the best reviewed and most popular hotels at any pricepoint! For first-timers, if there's any way you can afford the time and $ to add extra nights in town you won't regret doing so.

For the very little extra cost, you have piece of mind incase there is an issue. If something happens, the hotel will not deal with you, they will refer you to bookings.com. Not fun if you’re standing in a hotel lobby
jean-lynd Posted August 19 #7 Share Posted August 19 We stayed at the Fairmont Vancouver Airport hotel that is attached to the airport and thought it was great. It was so nice to walk off of our plane and into the hotel without having to shuttle around after traveling all day. We got in too late to do any sightseeing so we didn't need to be downtown. We took the Princess shuttle to the ship in the morning. Other options are the skytrain, uber or taxi. It was all so easy and stress free and when we were there in July it was cheaper than staying near the port. I hope this helps!
