You can see in the last pic that the captain managed to move the ship closer to shore. That was really convenient because it made the tender operation so much easier.

Then we passed the gate to the old town and found a little shadow in the narrow streets of beautiful Kotor.

It was not as humid as in Sorrento but after a couple of hours we were just as wet.

The tender operation to get back to the only took half an hour and was absolutely pain free.

The evening was spent at Aqualina again.

This evening was really busy, I guess everybody wanted to enjoy the beautiful sail out of Kotor's Fjords.

We had the Lobster Ravioli (very good, with a huge amount of lobster)

IMG_33132.thumb.jpeg.6dd581fdb114fc1254b6aae43bcbb9e1.jpeg

and the Cornish hen

IMG_33152.thumb.jpeg.217e0e35c51e4c190b93b13c2d9be3b9.jpeg

(the pasta was tasty, the meat was a little too burnt for my taste)

and a wonderful dessert again: A chocolate ganache with vanilla gelato

It was a lovely dinner.

After dinner I tried a Prince William Cocktail - which was a little too heavy for me (you have to really like cognac I guess).

Sibenik

We were positively surprised by the sail in to Sibenik. It was just as beautiful as the sail into Kotor!

Sometimes the cliffs were so close you could almost touch them - I admire the captain for maneuvering through this narrow passage!

The town is beautiful aswell.

It can be easily accessed by foot. It reminded me a little of Tallin (my favorite port).

We went up to the Fort St. James (Game of Thrones Season 5: Braavos; Entry: 11,50 E) with magnificent views on Sibenik and the sea

In the evening we had the privilege to attend the BOB dinner.

In honor of this dinner, I even went to get a "blow out" at the spa (Michelle did a fabulous job as my hair is really difficult to manage). I had bought a package of 3 for 149 plus 18% gratuities (but with 15 % explorer discount) which was a good price (given we are on a cruise).

They use Kerastase products and put in a lot of effort to make you happy.

Our invitation said to be at the drawing room at 18:15. So of course, monks that we are, we were ready to go at around 17:45 but did not want to be too early. So we waited patiently for the time to pass only to be rang at 18:10 by our concierge Ferdinand - asking us where we were?

It was a little bit embarrassing to be one of the last guests to arrive - but obviously the others knew to translate the invitation better than we did or they just attended their emptiest BOB dinner and knew when to arrive and what to expect.

We started with a champagne toast held by the marvelous captain Antonio. Then we were called by name to proceed to the dining table ... silverware (real silver I think), beautifully decorated and laid out... just amazing.

We had the pleasure to be seated next to the Hotel director Tony - what a dazzling personality!

Then, the artists were introduced:

you can see our restaurant Manager

the executive chef

The chief sommelier (Fun Fact: he has represented his country in the world championship of Sommeliers)

Ferdinand

and our Butlers (Padam - being the star of all butlers posing as fourth from the right)

The executive chef explained, why he chose the dishes and how his team prepared them and then the sommelier explained the choice of the accompanying wines.

And then the ballet started.

Every dish was brought out and served - with style - and in a fashion that reminded me of synchronized swimming.

I have never had the chance to take part in a chef's table but I would imagine it to be similar to this?

At the end of the dinner every lady received a red rose and every gentleman a bottle of limoncello.

We had such a great time chatting to Tony and the other guests.

I mentioned this on my first Azamara review - this is just the best token of appreciation that a cruise line could give to the top Suite guests. And I will say it again: This is so much better than gifting them a premium beverage package or OBC. I have not heard of any other cruise line that offers this!?

Thank you Azamara, this evening was wonderful!

I cannot believe that this is going to be our second to last port.

We are in KOPER today.

IMG_3384.thumb.jpg.a267dfd46e29aed19028bda2e02545e5.jpg

We were not the first Azamara ship to dock here: Journey has already arrived.

We are (again) docked right beside the old town. There is a lift just across from the port exit that directly leads you to the beautiful center of KOPER.

Agree totally. After many Az cruises with several different butlers Padam was by far the best.

At least they all turned up! The angst shown by Ferdinand might mean he's had a bad experience. One of the BOBs I went to, one family just didn't turn up at all. Had the invite, didn't show, rang them and they just didn't want to go and were eating elsewhere.  No RSVP. Seating hurriedly changed at the last minute that held us all up. Very poor behaviour. And I'd seen them at the cocktail party at the start of the cruise and didn't think much of them then. Stood at the other end of the Drawing Room talking within their group. I'd had my suspicions confirmed.

One solo lady at our Bob turned up 40 minutes late as she only wanted the main course. To be fair she had told her butler but it messed up the table dynamics. Even if you don’t want the food you could take a morcel of each course - so rude

wow, that would cause some second hand embarassment…

I imagine that a huge amount of work and preparation went into this event, I could not understand how anybody would be so little appreciative of that!

These thoughtless people live in the world of the entitled. Everything is about them. They consider anyone else "the help". (Yes, we know a few.)
