Current Policy on Price Drops/Upgraded Cabins

Diamond here but haven’t cruised in about 6-7 years so I don’t know RC’s current policy. I typically book outside cabins, but found a cruise a like next June with an inside cabin guaranty for just over half the price of the cheapest outside cabin ($750 pp vs. $1450 pp).  If I book the inside guaranty for $750 and the say outside drops to $1,000 during a sale or promotion, would I be able to upgrade to the outside by paying the extra $250 or would that price be for new bookings only?

If booked through the US/Canada system or travel partner then prior to final payment due date you can change categories and request price adjustments for the same category. 
 

Once final payment due date has passed there are no price adjustments to lower the price of the cruise.   Usually you can pay additional money to upgrade to a better cabin after final payment due date.    
 

You can sometimes encounter a contact center person who cites the “new bookings only” rule but often a second call yields a different outcome.

That pricing policy has not changed since you last sailed.
