Lauderdale. Any suggestions for parking? I am thinking we could either park at the port or do Long-Term at the airport and Uber to the port. It isn't the cheapest alternative but it is the most convenient and the two garages provide covered (I don't know when you're traveling but that is especially important in the summer) and elevated parking (that saves your car from flooding in the the case of an horrific rainstorm and flooding like in April 2023). Check out the Port Everglades website (if you haven't already) for a terminal/parking lot/garage map and lots of other information: www.porteverglades.net. And welcome to Cruise Critic! thinfool Posted July 18 #7 Share Posted July 18 The long term parking lot was closed several years ago....I believe it is now being used as a parking lot for airport employees. Anyway, it is closed, I drove past within the last year and there was no entrance for the public. As for your request about parking, this post will likely have several replies suggesting Park n Go which you will have to Google. Park N Go flooded horribly in that April 2023 flood which, granted, was the worst in history. Before then I would have assumed that during the dry season (December thru May) Park N Go would be safe but that flood happened in April so not even then. How long is your drive to/from the port to home? We've always parked as close to the terminal as possible avoiding shuttles from the port to parking. It may cost a few bucks more but it can save considerable time in getting on the road on the way home. Some shuttles will make multiple stops which only increases the time from port to car. It is advertised as $14.99/day, but taxes and fees for a 7-day park comes out to $19,52/day. I would rather pay $20/day and park directly at the port. I know there are many long term parking locations in Fort Lauderdale, but here's my question... any long term (3 weeks) INDOOR/COVERED parking? I am hoping for the extra security and protection from weather on a classic car. Any help would be appreciated. Advice I got from earlier post was to Google the Port Everglades web site. It’s $20 per day, which isn’t cheap but everything’s relative, considering the downtown Chicago will cost you 70 bucks overnight. Besides, the garages are walking distance to the terminals. Arriving passengers have disembarked by 9:30 or 10 am opening plenty of parking spots. In all my years of reading this forum I’ve only heard of having finding available parking spaces difficult once.
