YC and Diamond benefits

Hello all,

My first post on this board, so excuse me if this was covered before.

We sail mostly on Oceania, Silversea etc but decided to try the ship within ship concept. Very excited.

We just got a status match to Diamond - it seems a lot of benefits of Diamond you already get in the YC. The only significant benefit I could find is dinner in specialty. What else?

Also, it mentions late disembarkation, what does it mean practically? Sailing Miami to Miami.

Thanks everyone!

Many of the Voyagers Diamond perks are already covered by Yacht Club perks.   The one specialty dining you mentioned is extra, meaning not covered with if booking Yacht Club as a lower level.  Additionally you will get a bottle of psossecco, some chocolate bars, a gift such as a hat or small satchel, a dance class and invitation to the Voyagers gatherings, a free photo, various discounts around the ship, etc.... The full list is easily found.

I suspect it means absolutely nothing in Miami or any US homeport.

Technically the Voyagers late disembark allows you remain in the cabin for one hour past the vacate time posted.  However in Yacht Club this will be discouraged due to the short turnaround time of Yacht Club cabins.  The new batch of YC passengers are eagerly waiting to board first and want their cabins ready ASAP.

Thank you everyone!

When they say "Voyagers Exclusives 5+5%", does it mean 10% discount basically for all club members who book ate least 6 months in advance (which practically means for 99% of the guests because it is very easy to get status match)? If so, why not to say 10% instead of 5+5%

Because they are trying to indicate that you are getting both the basic Voyagers Club 5% discount plus the early booking 5% discount.   It actually comes out to a little less than 10% off the cruise fare (not off the taxes).

This got started because MSC used to offer Voyagers Club members varying discount percentages not based on when you booked.   Some sailings only got the base Voyagers 5%, some sailings were called Voyagers Selection and got the additional 5% - thus the 5+5%.  They also had some sailings that were 5+10% and 5+15% but those are gone for now.

The old Voyagers Club gave Black status, now called Diamond, 20% off most any cruises.

Mathematically, 10% off is not the same as 5% off + 5% off.

Yes, it's 9.75% if you apply it sequentially..  for most people it just adds confusion.

Adding to the confusion is that the taxes and port fees do not get the discount.

Many people on the forum have questioned the discount because they expected the total to be reduced by "10%"  when it ends up to be a different amount.

So realistically speaking, the discount is probably closer to 9%? And most guests basically get it if they book at least 6 months in advance?
