VISTA OR CELEBRATION HELP?

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

Hello,

Its been since 2018 since our last carnival cruise, we been cruising Celebrity.  We used up our last Celebrity casino cruise for this year and Carnival gave us an offer for $480. balcony room on each of these ships (Vista, Horizon, Celebration) including the drink package for both of us.

Port Canaveral is a two hour drive for us and if we go out of Miami we will fly into Miami.

Please give us pros/cons of each ship and your opinions in helping us decide to keep our current booking September 7th on the Vista or should we change to the Celebration out of Miami.  Both ships go to the ABC islands, which we travel to Aruba every year at least once a year since 2016 and our last two cruises were to the ABC islands which we love.

Any advice you can give would be greatly appreciated.

Celebration larger with significantly more food options.  If you had the ability to get a Havana room on the Vista (separate pool area just for those guests) it would be a clear home run.

I haven't sailed on Vista (coming in October!), but have been on Horizon multiple times.  We sailed Celebration last January.

There are good things about both.  Personally I prefer the Horizon.  We love the Havana area, and for us the ship is well laid out.  Good dining venues, nice bars, good entertainment across the board.

The Celebration has some fantastic bars, the food is very good, and the ship is lovely.  We found the layout made many of the areas on the ship very crowded.  The main theater is small compared to Horizon, so if you want a seat get there early.  Very hard to get a seat in comedy shows unless you lined up well before.  Also, the CenterStage concept is great, but the sight lines are awful.  You also have to get there well in advance of the show.

I have to agree. My wife and I sailed Mardi Gras, not Celebration, but had the same experience. Great food options, but a bit crowded at times with the same opinion about the center stage. We liked it, but didn't love it, if that makes sense. We've sailed Vista and Horizon and really enjoyed them both. Didn't have Havana on Vista, but made sure to get it on Horizon and what a game changer. Love that space.

As of now, Vista is our favorite class of ship, however we are open to trying Celebration (we prefer to sail from Miami), but may need to look into Havana or something next time.

ABC is a great itinerary, so any of these ships the OP mentioned will complement the journey.

We will actually be on Mardi Gras January 2026, so we can visit celebration Key.  We have a cove balcony for that sailing.

Havana is the only way to go on Vista Class, in my opinion anyway!  The private pool and deck space are worth every penny to us.  We usually do interiors, but I got a great deal on a Havana Cabana for our sailing in October.  Headed to St. Thomas, St. Maarten, and San Juan (Amber Cove too but we've been there before)
