Symphony - Solarium Bistro Dinner

Recommended Posts

Yes.  It is accessible.  The dinner is buffet/tapas style.  The food is on small plates that you serve yourself.  Word of warning, some of the plates are very hot.  I booked for a party of 8 twice while on Symphony.  The menu was the same both times but we really enjoyed it. There are different stations with different options so variety was not an issue.  A friend of mine mentioned to the waiter that she was sad to miss the dessert in the dining room.  The waiter was amazing and went to the dining room and brought her favourite dessert.  They went above and beyond.  Great service.

Is solarium bistro wheelchair accessible? And is dinner service buffet style or waited tables?  Thanks.

It is wheelchair accessible and is buffet style but they will definitely assist you if you need help.

Do you have to make a reservation for dinner at the Solarium Bistro?  Do you do this ahead of time or on the ship?

We have had to make reservations in the past. You can go to your cruise planner and make reservations through there 🙂 There is always a ton of options for time and even if you wait to make a reservation onboard you can do that as well, we have never had any issues.

No

One of those instances where contradictory answers are both kinda true! 🤣

To the best of my knowledge, all ships with a Solarium Bistro take reservations for dinner (not for breakfast or lunch). If we're still talking about the Symphony, then it's a definite yes. And if you want a popular time, there is a chance that reservations will fill up.

That being said, I don't think I've ever been there when every table is full, and if they can seat you without a reservation, they will. So if you know your plans ahead of time, it's quick & easy to just pick your time and reserve a table. If not, you will most likely be able to eat there anyway--you just might have to be slightly more flexible. 🙂

You may be right but we’ve been on 8 cruises on the Quantum class and 6 cruises on Oasis class and eat dinner there at least twice per cruise. We never had a reservation and never waited > 5 minutes.

Our last time on Symphony we decided to eat dinner at Solarium Bistro, and it was early as i recall.....but they told us they were booked with a large party so we couldn't eat there that night....in the future, i'll try to get reservations....

You do not need to make reservations, however, we had a large group and booked ahead of time on the app.  I would recommend booking ahead as it is free and you can cancel any time.
