And the Caribbean is scenic cruising through Prins Christian Sund at the moment.

It's not that far from here, but still too far for us.

Greenland ports are subject to a lot of disruptions.  We were fortunate to make it to both, although, I "heard" that tenders were not running at full capacity since water levels were low.  This meant a much longer time to get people back and forth.  There were 4-5 tenders on the runs and loading was faster, but still a process.

The only people who missed out where the ones with Glacier Tours.  I would much have preferred a day in Prince Christian Sound.  I do feel for the residents.  I spoke to someone in Qaqortog who mentioned that we were one of the first ships to make the port this season.  They really rely on tourism during their summer.

Glad you guys are still up there and hopefully will miss the remnants of Ernesto.

Thanks for the awesome photos!  I was to Greenland on a TA in Sept. 2005, loved our stop there.  People were gracious, answered questions, we were pretty much their last ship of Fall.

We had 5 tenders out yesterday, servicing both sides of the pier parallel. Waiting time shore to ship was less than 10 minutes in line at ~1 pm.

But I don't know how the situation was later in the day.

Do you know approximately how many stories high the icebergs are?

These were massive tabular icebergs, just in the bay behind Qaqortok. We went close by with the boat, I would estimate up to 30 meter in height above the water level.

The boat captain said, this is shelf ice from eastern Greenland, which was pushed into the fjord by wind.

@EDVM96 thank you again… This is stunning!  I would have loved to have seen this in person. Maybe another time?
