B2B on Grandeur of the Seas question

Recommended Posts

We are on a back to back on Grandeur next month  and as of right now we have different cabins on each cruise. If we are able to get the same cabin, would they let us keep our belongings in the cabin for the next cruise or would we have to pack it up?  And 2nd question- when we disembark the first cruise, will they allow us back on first or do we have to go by the time they assigned us?  12:00 is the fire on available.   Thanks.

First question:  Yes if same cabin leave everything in the cabin.  If changing cabins, let room attendant know and they will move your packed things to the next cabin.. I like to meet the next cabin attendant and tell him how we like our beds.

You will have a letter sent to your cabin telling you where to meet for the next cruise.  We are normally escorted off thru security and right back on before the new cruisers get on after given new key cards.

For a B2B if you have the same cabin you don't pack anything.  You just go to the B2B meeting in some lounge where they will hand out the cruise cards for the next sailing and when the ship is zeroed out (all departing guests have left the ship) you will do a walk thru with immigration, typically in the terminal but sometimes they come aboard to do it.  Your check in time for the second leg is meaningless.  Once cleared again my Immigration you walk back aboard (or if they came aboard you are released from the lounge), and your second cruise has started before anyone new has boarded.  You will receive a letter during the first cruise explaining the B2B process and where and when you have to be there to do it.

Thanks so much for clarifying this. Seems to be pretty smooth. It would be nice to keep the same cabin but I have a bid in for a royal up so doesn’t look good

If you presently have the same cabin for each leg I personally wouldn’t bother bidding if doing a B2B. So much less hassle to keep the same cabin.

Many people will tell you there is no problem moving your belongings. I lost several items of formal clothing during a changeover so I have a different attitude towards changing now. Too many hours lost trying to chase up the items on the second cruise.

Make sure that Guest Services is aware that you are on conservative cruises.  Usually they know already but sometimes they don’t.  Just drop by GS any time on your first leg and confirm that they know you are consecutive cruisers.
