Non-sequitur observation. The satellite internet connection has been inconsistent this entire cruise, to be polite. Harsh reality: sorta sux. We’ve relied on our 5G connection whilst in port for anything of importance.

Did Crystal offer excursions in Miami? If not, I wonder if the stop was solely to get immigration out of the way for a fast, smooth disembarkation in NYC? 🤔

There were 2 shorex offered.

Lots of supplies loaded (except the caviar), including liquor, bottled water, copier paper, wine glasses and lots of mechanical looking parts and pieces, including lots of various size piping.

And yes, likely the US immigration stop in order to expedite turn around in NYC.

The daily afternoon indulgence.

We have experienced the most inclement weather of this cruise today. Intermittent showers. 6’ seas +/-. Headwinds making a slightly bumpy ride.

Last of the three formal nights tonight. Combined Crystal Society & Captain’s Farewell reception in Palm Court. We’ll see how this goes with the ship’s current bouncy movement.

OMG seeds in the watermelon😱 😁

 Heads are gonna roll.

When Rob posted watermelon several days throughout the sailing, I couldn’t help but wonder if the galley or butlers remove the seeds. Luxury Crystal service at its finest. 👍

This time it’s the curse of the procurement department. Or Uber Eats had the wrong delivery address. Disappointing nevertheless. 🥲

Oh my, first the sake tasting and now this.  Over this one, my spouse wishes to express her profound disappointment.

And if I haven't said so before, great thanks for this thread.  So informative and entertaining.

Reflections and menus attached.

The winning couple at this evening’s Crystal society party had completed 155 cruises. Other milestone acknowledgments at guests achieving 99 cruises, 75 cruises and 60 cruises during this voyage.

For Saturday’s arrival in NYC the captain said the NY pilot boat comes alongside about 4am. Passing Statue of Liberty 6am-ish. Sunrise about 6:30am+/-. Expect to be pierside by 7:30am.

Arrival into NYC is a spectacular sail-in. One of the world’s best port arrivals. We are so glad that we have experienced arrivals (and departures) that were not scheduled for “dark-o-clock”.

Do not expect “live from” pics of the sail-in on Saturday. 🗽🌆

Well, time to tell the captain this is a good opportunity to focus on fuel economy,  Alternatively, ask him to pretend he's "driving" a Citroen 2CV.

Aloha. Love your cc name. Sailed in the Ryndam several times lol.  Born and raised in Manhattan and now divide our time between NY and Honolulu.  Our Manhattan apartment overlooks the Hudson and Statue of Liberty. Nothing beats watching ships sail past and the sound of the horn. Also have been blessed to sail in and out of NY since 1971 and each time is unique. Have a wonderful experience!!!

Thank you for your posts, daily Reflections and menus….and I couldn’t help but notice the thoughtful gesture of Waterside to offer a beet appetizer on the final evening….   🙂

It just shows Crystal follows this forum. AND has a good sense of humor with tonight’s finale menu. 😉

Yes, thanks, Rob, for sharing your travels, comments and photos with us.

Wishing you fair winds, following seas, and seedless watermelon. 🍉

Captain’s final noon announcement for this cruise. We’re experiencing 30 knot winds and 8-10’ seas. It’s a bit bumpier than yesterday, but the air temperature is still nice. Unfortunately a bit too windy for a deck walk today; the wind and the seas are churning up a fine mist along Deck 7.

Jim Brochu just presented the penultimate enhancement lecture for this cruise. It’s a relatively light activity schedule this afternoon. Many folks seem to be staying in their rooms due to the rocking and rolling. Plus it’s packing time. 🥲

Meanwhile, it’s lunch time now. 🍽️🍷

Thank you for taking us along on this voyage. We’ll be sailing in early November and you have really whet the appetite! It takes dedication to post regularly (I usually give up by day 3) and you rose to the challenge. I just hope there are beets on board when we get to Ft Lauderdale. 😎

Thank you! You may read between the lines (or not), but you just may find us with a Piggly Wiggly bag of beets on the gangway in FTL with you in early November. If our driver can find the Serenity with 8-count-em ships in FTL on November 8…

Stay tuned….😁

Thank you, Nancy. We’re just excited that the weather on this cruise, during high hurricane season was near weather perfect. And Houston was spared Francine! (Beryl & the tornado were enough this year!)

As of this morning, there was still some sashimi, bourbon, gin and wine onboard. Not making any promises what’s left in the pantry after dinner tonight!
