I don’t know what a hump balcony is but we’re in an AFT balcony on deck 6 right above the lifeboats. We have 2 chairs with adjustable backs and a small round table. We do not have any footstools. Just off the Silhouette last week. Had foot stools with 2 chairs and a table on veranda on deck 10.
Cruiscs Posted September 4 #102 Share Posted September 4 What do you recommend from the MDR?
Rare cruisestitch Posted September 4 Author #103 Share Posted September 4 All of the fish options have been good. The lamb has been fine also. The cream of chicken soup is delicious. And I like the beets and feta cheese appetizer, and the mushroom soup cappuccino, which are usually served on night one
Cruiscs Posted September 4 #104 Share Posted September 4 Thanks. Is the menu the same as in the app? How close to sail date do they update the meny on the app?

Cruizin_PA Posted September 4 #106 Share Posted September 4 My last cruise on Celebrity was 20 years ago, so never been on a Solstice Class ship. Are the interiors as dark as they look in pictures? Mainly the atrium area, which looks very dark, but most pictures could be in the evening vs. during the day. Just worried about the feel of the ship compared to other lines where they are more bright and airy.
Rare Galaxy2004 Posted September 4 #107 Share Posted September 4 In my opinion, the Solstice class is by far the brightest and airiest of the Celebrity fleet. The atrium lets lots of light in.
Rare cruisestitch Posted September 4 Author #108 Share Posted September 4 Ensemble lounge is kept quite dark, but the atrium has a skylight above it, which is how the tree suspended above it stay alive. The martini bar is generally quite bright as are the specialty restaurants.
39august Posted September 4 #109 Share Posted September 4 Of course the Sky Lounge, deck 14. is the brightest area on the ship as it is surrounded in glass. Yes, the atrium area is quite bright as is the library and the Oceanview Cafe also surrounded in glass.
Rare cruisestitch Posted September 4 Author #110 Share Posted September 4 Due to a technical difficulty, we were an hour late leaving Lisbon, but Captain Michael, our new captain, has announced that we will have two extra hours in Cadiz tomorrow
Rare cruisestitch Posted September 6 Author #111 Share Posted September 6 Well, tonight was supposed to be one of the special Captains Club happy hours in the sky lounge and my friends and I thought we would go it up tonight and we were feeling festive. We met with a closed door. I’m really sad because this is my favorite ship and we have had amazing service from all staff and crew members, but I can’t give this a great review score on the because of the intrusiveness the Park West scheme

Sky Lounge is a favorite of ours as well! For whatever it’s worth, I would let guest services know. You paid money & selected the Silhouette expecting the beautiful Sky Lounge. We too have had it used for various “other” things as well & are somewhat giving up on the S class. Other issues as well have contributed. Enjoy the rest of your cruise. What a slap in the face for loyal cruisers. Have they moved the special Captains Club cocktail event elsewhere or is it simply not happening? Rare cruisestitch Posted September 6 Author #117 Share Posted September 6 I only know about tonight and it simply didn’t happen. Parkwest is on for two more cruises. The Captains Club hostess and I had a chat about the upcoming cruises, but I won’t be here to see how it plays out. I’ve been on for three cruises and now I go home. Sincere thanks for all your posts. So sorry your cruises have had a key factor missing. I must say I am a little unnerved by what has happened on these cruises. We are on Reflection next year and I was delighted our room was near Sky Lounge…It will be my first cruise without my husband and I was thinking that events like the Elite Captains Club would be good to attend as a solo. I will be cruising with family but feel that it would do me good to try to spread my wings…

Rare cruisestitch Posted September 6 Author #120 Share Posted September 6 (edited) I went there at five expecting to attend the Captains Club happy hour and the door to Sky Lounge was shut. A staff member came out and said they were setting up for the evening’s auction. All the chairs in the sky lounge have to be moved into rows, and that takes quite a bit of time. Rare cruisestitch Posted September 7 Author #124 Share Posted September 7 (edited) You can get the happy hour drinks at many bars, and we have gone to ensemble, passport, sunset bar, and craft social. Casino bar one night and entertainment court bar once, also Edited September 7 by cruisestitch
