No, there were a total of 49 cabins doing the B2B. They no longer do the group picture. 😎

With all the pictures they take that do not get purchased, they took away a group photo of people that spend a lot of money.

They stopped doing them after Covid. Also, they stopped giving out mimosas when you reboarded the ship. They now give you free drink coupons, which I think is better. 😎

Great photo's of sailaway. Last time I sailed out of Manhattan was back on the Carnival Legend in 2003. EEK. I did sail on the Enchanted Princess back in 2022 out of Brooklyn, she was the one of my least favorite ships in the fleet.

We were up at 7am to a cool, cloudy day. The seas are a little bit choppy…..

At 9:30am we made our way down to the Teatro Rosso for “The Wave” Morning Show. Lee Mason has now officially taken over as the Cruise Director of the Venezia…..

 

 

Lee is joined at the start by Fun Squad members Clare and Sam, and by the Effy Ambassador Aqib……

 

 

 

Simon, the Il Viaggio Manager, joins them on stage……

 

 

 

 

That’s a wrap for today……

 

 

I head to the Lobby Bar to use up our free drink coupons with Pat, while Patti stays for the Fun Ashore, Fun Aboard show, also hosted by Lee…..

For the second week in a row we are seated at Table # 126. January 26^th is our son Kevin’s birthday…..

 

 

 

Here is the menu. It’s the same as last week. They change the menus every three months or so….

 

 

Very quickly our first round of drinks arrives…..

 

 

Lee introduces the Senior Staff and then Captain Pennisi says a few words…..

 

 

 

 

We all raise a toast to the Captain and Crew of the Venezia…..

Let’s eat! Here are our bread plates……

 

 

Patti has the Beer Cheese Broccoli & Potato Cheddar Soup, and the Salmon Oreganata…..

 

 

 

I have the Crab Arancini, and the Jambalaya Pasta…….

 

 

 

We both had the Torta Della Nonna for dessert……

 

 

Just like last week the food and drinks were great!

 

Afterwards, I went to the Non Smoking Casino to play blackjack for a couple of hours, while Patti went back to the cabin to finish watching a movie that she had started. She found that Jason had left today’s towel creature…..

 

 

 

Looking outside, it seems that the seas have gotten calmer…..

At 5pm we have a reservation for Bonsai Teppanyaki. Here are Chef Jerwin and his lovely assistant. He starts by taking everyone’s entrée orders. Patti orders the teriyaki salmon, and I order shrimp & chicken……

At 7pm I made my way down to the Teatro Rosso for the PG Comedy Showcase starring Landry and Arvin Mitchell. Patti is going to stay in the cabin and watch a movie. I got my favorite seat at the five seat high top in front of the bar. Arvin Mitchell sat down next to me and we had a nice conversation for about ten minutes…….

Both comedians did a great job with their PG material. Had to give them both a 9 out of 10. Coming up next was the Love & Marriage Show. I’m tired so I’m going to skip it this week.....

 

 

 

Getting back to the cabin I can see that the luggage is being put out in the hallway. Our luggage isn’t going anywhere…..

 

 

 

Back in the cabin Patti and I settle in to watch some television. I order chicken tenders and fries for the both of us. One cruise down and another to go!

Yes. I was able to use the dry sauna and the hydrotherapy hot tub in the ladies locker room. There is also an open rain shower that is helpful for cooling down after the dry sauna.

The whole meal was excellent. We couldn’t have eaten another bite. We left there just in time for the Captain’s Venetian Toast in the Atrium. We bumped into Lee before it started…..

 

 

 

The Sunny Violins were playing classical music before the event started…..

Afterwards, Patti and I were still in a food coma from Bonsai Teppanyaki, so we decided to head back to the cabin to relax. We will be moving our clocks one hour ahead tonight.

Arvin had another good show. I went back to the Lobby Bar and had another Cruiser with Pat, before heading back to the cabin for the night.

Thank you Jeff and Patty for including my picture, James, in your review. It did start out as a rainy day, but as we sailed thru the NY harbor, it became such a nice afternoon. Great meeting you both, and am enjoying reliving my cruise thru your review!!

Bonsai is a great experience. Have done it each ship I’ve been on. That has it of course.
