Strike by Port Workers - Could begin Oct 1. (Fort Lauderdale not affected?)

Just looked into this story.  The head of the Union seems angry and he!!-bent on striking and 'shuttin' them down'.

But it looks like FLL, which is where many Princess Cruises depart from, would not be effected?

Does anyone have any better insight or info?

According to CNBC cruise operations would not be affected. Which is a relief ( we are leaving on September 28 from Brooklyn. So maybe it’s just freight. Although I feel like freight when I disembark.

Head of Workers Union claims cruise lines will not be affected in the beginning of the strike, but wont guarantee if strike lingers past 2-3 weeks.

Your luggage will make it onboard. Food, alcohol, etc. that's another issue.

No, I haven't heard or read anything with that kind of detail. "National news" is kind of vague, could you be more specific, such as a link to an article that indicates that passenger luggage will be taken care of but food and alcohol would be a problem.
