LOTS of hullabaloo about this on the Book of Face, and John Heald has commented about it too. He doesn't list the 3 ships but from posts I've seen from passengers, it's the Excel class ships. He (and passengers) have confirmed that if you don't like the included sides, you can "swap them out", but to me, that doesn't indicate if old sides like the mac n cheese (that aren't listed on the new menu) are part of the swaps.

Anyway, here's John's post:

And a page of the "new" menu where the included sides are listed:

Ugh, if this is the new menu I will not longer be able to book the steakhouse. My husband loves it, but I only eat either the chicken or the Dover sole. 😞

Here's the second page of entrees from the "new" menu. Yay for chicken and Dover sole 🙂

What 2026 Europe cruise are you looking at? We booked beginning of June 2026 on Legend. So excited!!

July 19th. 12 day Scandinavia/Baltic. Similar to our cruise this past summer on the Legend. Some new ports and some the same but a great itinerary.

Yes!!  Almost the same itinerary as ours except we go to Brussels instead of Hamburg.  2026 sounds so far away but it will be here before we know it!!🥳

On a (mostly) related note, I just read that Carnival has taken away the Deal or No Deal prize of a $25 bingo package for two matches. The minimum to win now requires three matches for $30 in casino free play. The cutbacks have now gotten to the point of removing value from paid activities, which seems just plain greedy. I think there might be some fallout over reducing the benefits of activities with additional costs.

I was at Deal or No Deal a couple of evenings ago on my current cruise, and they did have the Bingo package for 2 matches.

When I have won that in the past, I simply tell them that I don't want any upgrades, and they have handed me my cards without any issue. I bring a pencil to mark my cards.

We are certainly off topic now, but we looked at that cruise as we went to Brugge this summer and loved it. I wanted to go back but the cruise was a week too soon to fit in with wife’s teaching schedule. Same for the solar eclipse cruise in August being a couple of weeks too late. I would highly suggest going to Brugge on your own over Brussels (much closer to port and medieval city with lots of history).

Not a big rumor mill follower here.  That said, all things are like water, they find their own level.  Personally speaking, I would rather get nothing than free bingo plays which only entice one to spend more money on cards.....but that is just me.

On Mardi Gras we decided to do Deal or No Deal since we had never done it before and wanted to see what it was about.  I won a free Bingo game.  That Bingo game was played on our anniversary the 21st, on our 21st cruise, in 2021 and the board had 21 on it.  21 is my lucky number.  I won $875 dollars on my free game I won playing Deal or No Deal🤑.

I always bring a marker I got in a Bingo package years ago.  I only use it on Carnival Cruises.

We are doing it on the eclipse cruise and are planning to go to Brugge.
