dock Posted September 25 #1 Share Posted September 25 (edited) We’re looking at excursions for our cruise next summer. Does anyone have any info re this tour. We’re also considering a walking tour around the town but I’d much rather do the Vigur island tour. Price point for Vigur for two people is $498 so it’s quite an outlay and I’d like to have some input before booking. Thank you. Nitemare Posted September 26 #2 Share Posted September 26 We booked directly with West Tours in Isafjordur when we went to Vigur a few years ago. It looks like booking directly costs about half what you mentioned. They don't seem to be taking bookings for 2025 yet, though
ljandgb Posted September 26 #3 Share Posted September 26 I can't imagine the ship's tours are very different from what you can book directly. There are only so many vendors in that area. To that, if you decide to book on your own, do it early, as local vendors sell out very quickly there.
ericosmith Posted September 27 #4 Share Posted September 27 My research earlier was that if there was a ships tour there, there were not other private tours.

cunnorl Posted October 5 #6 Share Posted October 5 We did this excursion this past summer with HAL. Very much enjoyed it. Walked a short distance from the ship to the boat that took us to Vigur Island. Ship was comfortable and the crew very friendly and informative. Saw 1 whale on the way. On the island we were met by the caretaker and he walked us all around. Saw hundreds of puffins and several other species. we were served a delicious cake and coffee. it was a wonderful tour, we really enjoyed it. There were no other tours there except the one sponsored by HAL when we were there.
