burm Posted July 11, 2015 #327 Share Posted July 11, 2015 I have a new one to add that I never would have thought of. We will be visiting penguin colonies while on a 'round the Horn cruise, and it has been suggested that we take surgical booties for walking on ground covered with slimy penguin poop. We wouldn't want to ruin good hiking boots or carry that nasty stuff onto the ship. The tips we pick up on CC!!!

I'd suggest a pair of cheap gloves so you don't have to touch the booties to take them off. And lots of hand sanitizer.
ScubaSteve46231 Posted July 12, 2015 #329 Share Posted July 12, 2015 -Earplugs or tightly fitting earbud headphones to help reduce the volume level from the loudspeakers during muster drills (I get a skull splitting migraine otherwise) -My laptop for watching movies and documentaries on the balcony -Notebook and drawing supplies -Camera -Books Because people keep mentioning anti-nausea medication, I find it amusing that people can get seasick on a modern cruise ship. It's not like they pitch or roll much at all.

It's not like they pitch or roll much at all. Some people, my DH included, have vertigo and sometimes the slightest continuos motion makes him sick/dizzy. Bo-nine is the generic for meclizine which is the RX for vertigo. Our love for cruising has had its challenges. I wish he was as lucky as you seem to be...[emoji41]

Magnum60 Posted June 1, 2016 #340 Share Posted June 1, 2016 Pretty simple answer for me. I make it a point to always bring a smile and a positive attitude. Those two things are always packed first. Everything else after those two items is just stuff.
