I talked to Neal and we are working on other perks, cocktail party , casino chips, champagne in cabin ect. if we get enough cabins. Because it's spring break (prime time) they don't offer much. Atleast we got the $100 onboard credit for 8 cabins so far!:D

Thats the one thing that surprised me was the lack of perks, but thats what Neal was told. Cruise Critic is also giving us a few things, magnet & keyring I believe.:)

Do you want to do a flyer? They contact you? I can do one and email it to you also. But it needs to have something so they know it's from your family..

What do you think? You can also email me at Litewait@aol.com. If this pans out I'll have to come up with an onboard surprise for you:rolleyes:

Wow, your school starts way earlier than ours! My kids go back on Sept. 5th!

We are actually squeezing in a 4 night cruise on the Paradise the 28th-1st, and then have labor day weekend off as well.:D

I wish we lived closer to Fla. We are very limited to ports and ships here. My airfare is going to be crazy for the April cruise. I keep looking for sales and one way fares. Last year I could have flown for $250 RT same time frame. Now I'm looking at 350 & up. If I find anything lower I guess I'll snag that. I kinda want to wait for SW fares to come out.

With all that going on with gas & airline stuff who knows now...

I wish our school started that late. I would love a flyer--you're obviously more talented than me. I don't even know how to do a signature. Anyway, my email address is babs125@yahoo.com if you have the time to make one, I would really appreciate it. Too bad Air Tran doesn't fly out of San Diego (or does it). Maybe you'll get a good deal since you'll actually be flying back on Easter day.

I will try and design a flyer over the next couple of days so you can start passing out next week or when you want. I'll email that to you.:D You should post it in the teachers lounge and/or hand one individually to each teacher!

As for a signature, you change that by going up to the blue strip on the page and go to user cp. Then click on edit signature. it will open up the box where you can type in stuff ect. save and it will appear on every post. I will email you the banner link and you can cut and paste that to your signature as well.

If you want to add a glitter name you can follow the links to that website. Create and then again cut & paste to your signature when editing and walla! I hope that doesn't confuse you. It took me awhile. It will also show you on there how to add the avatar ( the picture by your user name)

Happy Cruising!

I am also waiting for SW fares to come out but I think it will be a while. Do they come out one month at a time? We fly Air Tran too out of Baltimore. We can usually grab a $79 one way. But unfortunately with that being a week before a holiday, I think the fare specials will be very limited.

Hello Everyone!

Litewait - Thanks for putting us down as interested...we should know by Friday what we are going to do.

Katbid - I know! It was a definite bummer, but at least no one was hurt and it could have been worse. Better to take my cruise money than happen with no money at all! Especially since now I know there is another CC group going.

School starts on Monday for the kids here also. My nieces and nephew started this past Monday in GA....it seems it gets earlier & earlier every year.

We are going to drive down to Tampa...it's just cheaper that way...unless flights get down to 150.00 p/person or something crazy like that. Or gas goes up any more

We had a bit of the excursions planned (very tenatively, could be changed at any time :D)since we were planning on originally going in Feb...

In Grand Cayman - Nativeway tour - Stingray & Island Tour....we want to see the city & definitely the rays. Not too sure about getting DH to snorkle, he's not a good swimmer...so that may exnay the other tour they have, which is the one you all are interested in :(

Cozumel - hopefully the dolphin swim at Chankanaab

Costa Maya - beach day at Mahahual

Belize - trying to talk DH into cave tubing also...if not, then one of the cayes for some more beach time....but tubing is my first choice I think.

We are driving down on the Friday before when ever we decide to cruise...and going to check out the Big Cat Rescue in Tampa.

Has anyone checked on hotels?

I sure hope you can make it!

Our plans are to hopefully fly out of San Diego on Fri. night before, but atleast Sat am. Don't know what will do Sat in Tampa yet.

We are also looking at the Royal Dolphin swim At Chankannab, But it's so expensive..I also want to go to Paradise beach and Tapas.

Will be doing Mahajual as well. MAybe we can share cabs or something along the way!

We are going to do the Cave Tubing and have started a group with Yhony.

I haven't booked a hotel, but if you guys have ideas since you live close maybe I can check into a group of rooms somewhere.. Sometimes if you book a block it's a little less.:p

Hope you all are having a great weekend, we spent the day at the waterpark here in town. FUN! Haven't been all summer so my son had a blast!:D

I agree about the dolphin swim being expensive. My reasoning is to get into Discovery Cove, the park affiliated with Sea World in Orlando, where you can swim w/the dolphins is 250.00 per person...and we would have to drive to Orlando...so why not do it for cheaper while we are already on a cruise...

Knoxville is closer to Tampa than CA ;) but we have never been to Tampa....we have reservations for the Feb pre-cruise at the Marriott Westshore for 119.00 per night, (this included 10.00 parking for the entire week) but their rates for April are more than that now. The 119.00 per night was only justified b/c of the parking since parking is like 10-12 bucks per day at the pier.

I talked to DH about the tubing in Belize, he said that he thought he could do that...which is a way better response than I have been getting, so it sounds promising. I plan on showing him a video that was linked to on here so he can see that it's no big deal.

Waterpark - sounds like fun. I spent my night helping w/the yardwork, but at least it's done now.

Fortunately I have a great friend who lives in Tampa. We are staying with her the night before and of course she is getting me to/from airport/cruiseport. Her husband works for the Tampa Bay Lightening so they are taking us to a game the night before. EVen though I am not a hockey fan...we are Football fans (GO STEELERS), it will still be fun.

Still haven't found flights. I am waiting on Airtran and Southwest.

Geosgirl...hope you decide to come along with us.

I worked for Head Start in Knoxville. It's been years since I've been there. Do you go to Gatlinburg much?? Liked going there to!:)

WOW.

Holy crap! Small world no kidding. DH & I are originally from Morristown, which is about 1/2 between Johnson City & Knoxville (I bet you knew that though..) I work downtown, so Calhouns by the River is a walk away, so let me know :D We don't go to Gatlinburg as much as you would think even though we live so close. Traffic sucks there...Ripley's Aquarium is awesome there though. It's only been there for a few years or less.

Why aren't your friends in Tampa coming with us?? Thats so great to have friends there! I may try that priceline thing everybody talks about on here. Not sure yet.

Rachel, no news on your car..huh? Atleast I read they didn't total it. I rear ended someone in March, and it took a month to get all the parts and get it fixed. I had to have a rental.. Exoensive!:(

I called on Friday to see how it was going b/c it was supposed to be done by Monday and they said they were waiting for 3 more parts to come in, so hopefully by the end of this week. I rear-ended someone also. No damage to his truck or him thankfully. He had a steel bumper w/trailer hitch and my poor toyota has (had) a plastic/aluminum one...it lost the fight. Even though I have full coverage - it didn't pay for a rental. Instead of paying for a rental, my DH works 3rds, so I just wait for him to get home & then take his car, drop my nephew off at daycare and then go to work. I then still leave at 5pm to pick my nephew up before 6pm. Will make my check a few hours short, but that's better than paying for a rental and thankfully, my employer is understanding.

We may try priceline also..I have done hotwire once and was happy w/that.

The Sunday we return is Easter, correct? Do you think that will cause any traffic problems?

From what I've seen the ship comes in early and people are by 8-9 o'clock. Most peopel won't hit the roads home until after 12 or 1 in my opinion. Easter egg hunts, lunch and church. You should be well on your way by then.:D

Thanks, got the flyer and printed it out. I have a meeting at school tomorrow night and will take copies. My daughter just got out of school and haven't talked to her yet but she sent me a text during lunch and said the day was great! We had a major crisis this morning though. She had a "sleep mark" from the pillow on her face when she woke up and was afraid it wouldn't go away before I dropped her off.:)

Babs-Any luck getting a hold of Neal? I am really excited for you . I hope you get the cabin you want. I am very excited but the whole airfare thing is starting to scare me. I don't want to pay an arm and a leg but I guess I'll just have to suck it up, with it being spring break and Easter.

Anyone else out there still thinking of booking this week??

Is better from what I'm told because of the time change. Maybe call again if you haven't heard soon. I think some days he doesn't go in until noon:confused:

I know your excited to "really" get it done!

Happy Cruising!
