We've done Southern, Eastern & Western Caribbean, where to go next?

We've gone East, West & South. Last time I checked there is no Northern Caribbean :o)

Why don't cruise lines offer the Mexican Riviera after May?

Try Alaska. It is spectacular! Many ships move to Alaska for the summer.

We have done all the Caribbean trips and are now going to take a Panama Canal crossing. It'll include the Caribbean favorites between Ft. Lauderdale and the Canal then the Pacific should be interesting. Sailing on Sun Princess April 18, 2005. Can't wait!!

Now that we've done the Caribbean a few times we're trying the Panama Canal on Coral Princess next March. This will be our first cruise longer than 7 nights, we're looking forward to it. I've heard good things about this ship!

Alaska or the Panama.. Two of our favorite cruise destinations

Done all the carribeans,panama, and mexican riverera. It was a tossup between Alaska and Hawaii. The warm weather in Hawaii won out. Can't wait.

Anyplace would be great as long as I am onboard a ship.

All except one of our cruises have been in the Caribbean. We would love to do the Med. if the world ever calms down.

I wouldn't take a cruise to Israel but a European Mediterranean cruise should be safe and fabulous. I'd go back to Kusadasi and Istanbul in a heartbeat. They're not in the plans for this year as I have to get through my daughter's wedding this summer but we're taking the Manaus, Brazil to Rome cruise next April. Can't wait for that one!

 

How about a Baltic or Northern Europe cruise? I'd love to do one of those.

Bermuda out of New York or Boston is a good choice. You get 1 sea day sailing over, then 3 and a half days in port (sometimes changing to different parts of the island) where you use the ship as your hotel and can get off for some of the island nightlife, then another day and a half sailing back. Bermuda is just beautiful, clean with a very friendly population and no hawkers. The only downside is that the casino is closed in port, but we've been so busy that this hasn't been a big problem. It would also give you a chance to see some of the northeast, if you're not familiar with our part of the country.

Just got back from Alaska, did the Med on the Golden last year, and we booked for the Star in the Baltics next year! We'll probably do the Southern Caribbean or Panama Canal after that. Gotta see it all while ya can!!

 

And speaking of the unrest in the world....(and I really don't mean this in a bad way)...my feeling is that the cruise lines wouldn't go if they didn't think it was safe. And since everybody's avoiding European cruises, the prices are cheap! Alaska was a LOT more expensive than last year's Med cruise!

Who's avoiding European cruises? Our sailing on 6/8 to the Baltic was sold out, as were the previous dates. If I had the time, I would go back again this year. With a few very minor exceptions, I haven't noticed any rock bottom prices either, so it's not a depressed market over there.

Have you done the Southern Caribbean Explorer... a little different from your "regular" Southern?

 

If not, please think about "Going for the Gold" in 2005 on the Group I'm heading up on the Golden Princess with a sail date of 4/24/05....I have a post out there on this - just waiting for pricing & more info to update it.

I guess I was thinking about last year. Princess originally had the Grand and the Golden in the Med, and ended up cancelling the Grand. There was still room on our cruise! Plus, I still see a lot of people saying they're worried about going overseas.

I would second the vote for Bermuda. It's a great place to visit, close to Paradise! This summer I'm doing Alaska. In the future I hope to do the Med., and eventually the South Pacific.

4FRCrusing: We did the Southern on Celebritys Millenium, repeating a few ports from our Western itinerary. Did take a train to the Panama Canal.

 

I worry about crossing the Atlantic to Europe. Sarah in Lotus Spa told me the Caribbean Princess's crossing from the Italian shipyard to FL had waves up to the crew deck (4) and everyone was sea sick for 3 days!!Not my idea of fun. Luckily no passengers were on board.

No one is mentioning the Mexican Riviera....how come?

We just got back from the Star Princess and can't say enough good things about southern europe. Turkey was one of our best spots. It always felt very secure and it was a very good deal.

well, we have done the western and southern but have decided on a different route for our cruise in october....the exotic western route-to belize, costa rica and panama...all of these ports will be new to us....

 

even though you have sailed the west, east and south caribbean, search for different itineraries...maybe you'll find one with islands you have never been to ....

 

or.....a cruise to canada is nice......halifax, nova scotia is beautiful!!

Seeyalater, we've done the whole Caribbean thing several times and Bermuda and enjoyed them all. This October will be our first time doing the Mexican Riviera out of San Francisco so I can't give you a review yet but can say that we are really excited about it. This will be the first time we'll be doing any of these ports so I'm sure we'll have a ball. Most of our trips have been out of NYC or Florida so it's pretty convenient and we can get really good airfare prices, this time we got a really good airfare and decided to tack on a couple of days before and after to really enjoy San Fran.

I'll second that! Tahiti is wonderful, my best cruise ever! I've been 2 years in a row, and plan to go again!

I enjoyed the Baltic also, and Mexican Riviera. Trying Alaska next year!

I am thinking Bermuda would be nice, but WHY are there no Mexican Riviera Sailings in the summer. Is the Caribbean more popular? We have 2 teenage daughters that I can't really pull out of school.

Seayalater - I TOTALLY agree with you about the Mexican Riviera. We live in the LA area and love to get on a ship to Mexico. We go 3 to 4 times a year, but with my grandson in school, it would be soooo much easier to go in the summer. Our next cruise is the Diamond, Dec. 29 to Mexico - he'll be out on Christmas break.
