Is there still a bad smell on the Millenium ?

This past winter there was alot of complaints on these boards about a bad odor. Wondering if this summer's cruisers noticed it too. Thanks

We just got back from the Aug 6 sailing, and did not encounter any problems with the bad smell. I noticed a couple of odd odors here and there, but nothing pervasive or particularly unpleasant.

We were on the July 12th cruise and didn't notice any odors of the kind indicated previously.

LOL :D Thanks for giving me an early morning laugh! Best joke of the week...

 

Anyway... I was on Millennium for 28 nights when somebody started the 'bad smell' rumour on Cruise Critic (in March of this year) and never smelled a thing. So whatever it was, it wasn't a huge problem in the first place.

It was no rumor!! It was evident way prior to your cruise. Check with Host Star who actually had correspondence with Celebrity regarding the problem and proposed fix.

We were on in February, the only bad smell we encountered was after meal times in the corridors by the cabins, obvious reason, but not noticed it on any other ships before, it was quite awful to be honest!!

 

I'm not sure if that was the smell people are referring to?

I too, had read the posts on the Millie smell issue and had concerns prior to our cruise. In fact, I had my TA call Celebrity management and ask about the problem.

 

I'm happy to report that we did not experience any issues with bad smells during our 13 days on board.

We just got back on Aug. 6th 2006 too. Didn't notice any obnoxious smells. Garlic and Greek night smells, but that was the food. Everything was just fine on our cruise. If you go on the Millie, you will have a great time.

Same as Pattyj. We returned on August 6. Had a great time. No smells except for garlic and great food!

We took the Mediterranean cruise in May, didn't smell anything unpleasant at all.

Just returned yesterday. No odors to report except one night coming from the room steward's, I don't know, trolley? Whatever you call the thing they roll around the halls. Something really smelled bad in one when we returned from dinner. We called and had it moved. No other problems.

It was NOT a rumor! Celebrity admitted that it was a problem, but it sounds like it has been corrected.

Just returned Aug 29th, no bad smells and no complaints.
