I have bid up to $130 for Feb 3-5 for "resorts" in San Juan with no luck. I will try again tomorrow (after 24 hour wait) for $140. If I don't get it then I'm booking the Hampton for $151 per night which will be about the same as the $140 with taxes. Maybe not as fancy but I'm more sure about the Hampton then some of the reviews I've read about the 3.5 stars with Priceline in San Jaun. And I'll get Hilton points.

Just won the Marriott San Juan Resort and Stellaris Casino. Bet 120 and they told me to bid a 30 $ more and now i ´ve got it.

I bet resorts and 4 * San Juan Area for 04/23/2011 for one night.

Hope this was a good deal, because if i booked a resort in my travel agency here in Germany i would pay about 3 times more.

Just got Marriot Stelleris for Friday 3/18/2010 for $130. I bid Resorts and 126 and was told for 30$ more I could have it. I had read on here, that you can sometimes get it for less..so I went back, added the 4 stars and increased my bid to 130 and got it...I'm happy with that...will try again for something a week later for when we get back. I was really nervous about using priceline, but it was really easy.

Good for you. I'm glad someone won something for that night. I bid for the same night 3.5* and up for a couple weeks and my top bid was 150 a night and I got turned down.

Why dont you try what 3kids1dog suggested.I was also trying all types of combinations with no luck. $130 was as high as I was willing to go. It seems to be a case of being in the right place at the right time.

I wound up going with hotwire since the place that matched up with the amenities was the OSJ sheraton, which I wanted. I started getting worried about getting the radisson. I paid too much but much less than the full price rate so I am happy (not giddy lol).

Tonight (11/3), after trying over several months, I was successful bidding on Priceline for both a pre-cruise night and a post-cruise night. In August I was starting at $75 and going up by $5 increments for the full 7 bids, using the free re-bid zones (those with no 4* or higher properties). Have raised my starting point gradually over time. Tonight I began at $100 for each of the nights I wanted, and won the Marriott at $130 on the 7th bid each time. Again, I went up by a $5 increment on each bid.

For each night (4/22 and 4/30):

$130.00 bid

23.03 taxes & fees

$153.03 total charges

Considering this is the beginning and end of Easter week, I am happy:).

Does anyone know what the resort fee is likely to be?

I just got sheraton old san juan for $80 per night for 3/16-3/17/2011. I actually did it as a test run thinking that I was bidding low as the price on the site was $240 per night but then it accepted it. Super surprised. I chose 3.5 stars, san juan area #8.

Of course, I immediately felt like maybe I could have gotten it cheaper ;)

Sheraton Old San Juan

March 15 - 17, 2011

$80 x 3 = $240

Taxes & fees $36.84

Total $276.84 :D

Ladeeesquire - based on your bid I started at $70, refused

rebid free zone $73 refused

rebid free zone $74 refused

rebid free zone $76 refused

decided last rebid $80 accepted

So I don't think you would have gotten it for much less. On the Sheraton website lowest price room (King bed, lower floor, no view) was $167 plus taxes and fees. We did good.

I didn't realize the OSJ Sheraton was on hotwire. I've been hoping to get it on Priceline without sucess. WOuld you mind listing the amenities so i can try to find it?

Thank you.

Thank you.

They are as follows:

3.5*

Casino

Fitness Center

Pool(s)

Restaurant(s)

Business Center

High-speed Internet Access

Tennis Nearby

Sometimes the 3.5* is the Radisson.

Betterbidding dot com is good and helped me a lot.

What dates are you looking for?

For night of March 12, 2011, just got Raddisson Ambassador (3.5*) for $123 bid. Total w/taxes comes to $145.

Started at $98 and went up in $5 increments + adding zones (w/out 3.5* and higher). That's a Saturday night with three ships sailing on the 13th.

Would have preferred Sheraton OSJ but this is fine.

I needed a post-cruise hotel for a Friday night for either Resort or 4*.

After a few weeks of bidding with no success, finally realized I had to up my price. Started at $125 and went up in $10 increments + adding zones.

Finally won the Marriot Resort and Stellaris Casino for $155 + taxes. 2 rooms Friday Feb 25, 2011.

BTW,

Also thru Priceline, I scored the Sheraton OSJ for $80 pre-cruise Sunday Feb. 13, 2011. Pretty happy about this one. Accepted on my first bid.

Got the Radisson for this Christmas Eve for one night post cruise for $78. plus taxes for a total of $94.

I think it looks great as a 3.5 star for one night ! Close to the beach.

I am a happy camper and looking forward to Christmas morning in the tropics. :)

Priceline.
