calmac Posted October 2, 2006 #1 Share Posted October 2, 2006 Well, it's 2nd October here in the UK (09:40) and in most of the US too (not Hawaii). I haven't noticed anything different on the NCL UK website but I have noticed that the US site has a new name (still looks the same though) http://www.freestylecruising.com/
calmac Posted October 2, 2006 Author #2 Share Posted October 2, 2006 Spoke too soon - the Advance Guest Registration area has been updated (well, different background but same otherwise).
noobiecruiser Posted October 2, 2006 #3 Share Posted October 2, 2006 It's 6:01 est and I don't see any discernable changes, including name of website and registered guests. Should we give them a few more hours? :D
roxette Posted October 2, 2006 #4 Share Posted October 2, 2006 Hopefully the "new" site will be more like carnival's site. Where you can order things on the site, like soda cards and such, not like NCL were you have to call or fax(!). A few more hours.:)
bajathree Posted October 2, 2006 #5 Share Posted October 2, 2006 Woke up here in the US and clicked on NCL.com and thought I was going to be WOWED.....well nothing looks any different other than the name change mentioned above to freestylecruising.com. shoreguy Posted October 2, 2006 #6 Share Posted October 2, 2006 Not a name change but I think the address they moved the old site to while bringing up the new site. All my saved links to various pages on NCL.com just go to the splash page. :D It will take some time for the kids to get the new site up. Keep in mind they have to work before and after school :D :D Roxette - I would expect more changes to look and feel rather then function. Much more then a web site to enable online ordering and payment. Time will tell.
roxette Posted October 2, 2006 #7 Share Posted October 2, 2006 True, Shoreguy. I hope for new and more pictures of the ships. Maybe some videos and/or "virtual tours" of the ships as well. It can't be that long time 'till we see what the kids have done. :)

OptimusPrime Posted October 2, 2006 #10 Share Posted October 2, 2006 A lot better than the 1998 look it had until yesterday!  "Welcome to The NCL.com" (In the title bar) Weird.
newlywedcruisers Posted October 2, 2006 #11 Share Posted October 2, 2006 A lot better than the 1998 look it had until yesterday!  "Welcome to The NCL.com" (In the title bar) Weird. Ehhh... it'll disapear soon I bet. I'd be willing to put money on we'll find plenty of typos and other problems while they still work out the site. Luckyroot Posted October 2, 2006 #12 Share Posted October 2, 2006 I like the new look, and it's easier to use, but apparently you cannot book online? I'm trying to book (actually just confirm a price drop) and once you get to the pricing you it tells you that you have to call. Don't like that part about it. :(
RSWBADGER Posted October 2, 2006 #13 Share Posted October 2, 2006 Tried to Register "Unexpected System Error". Shore Excursions still not available for the NCL Pearl, December 22, 2006. Multiple excursion numbers available with no times.
newlywedcruisers Posted October 2, 2006 #14 Share Posted October 2, 2006 Still, the ShorEx section has to be 1000 times better than before. Is anyone having problems pulling up pics or is it just the crappy work computer? **Edit on this one- I only have trouble pulling up ShorEx pics and NCL Sun pics**
Dolphins Posted October 2, 2006 #15 Share Posted October 2, 2006 I always had a link on my desktop to the Dawn web-cam. Now when I go to it, I get the NCL web-site? So I got to Fleet, I go to Norwegian Dawn, I go to web-cam and a box called Dawn web-cam pops up with a blank screen?
newlywedcruisers Posted October 2, 2006 #16 Share Posted October 2, 2006 All of your NCL links will have to be updated due to the change of address from NCL to freestlyecruising.com. As for the webcam not pulling up now that may be yet another glitch in the new site. **EDIT** I was able to find the Dawns webcam and it is viewable.** New link http://www.ncl.com/nclweb/fleet/publicRooms.html?shipCode=DAWN&displayTab=WebCam
calmac Posted October 2, 2006 Author #17 Share Posted October 2, 2006 Just found floorplans for cabins - nice touch as this is something that is asked about often on here. It was in the Ships - Staterooms section.
newlywedcruisers Posted October 2, 2006 #18 Share Posted October 2, 2006 **Update** Its back to using NCL.com addresses (sorry I didn't notice in my last post). Looks like it used freestyle.com for about 10 minutes after it launched.

CTBob Posted October 2, 2006 #20 Share Posted October 2, 2006 I love it, but I wonder how people still on dial-up will like it? Or is there no one left on dial up? I also like a website where you find something different each time you visit, sort of like a treasure hunt. I'm not sure if that's really good for a business though. Bob
familyof4cruising Posted October 2, 2006 #21 Share Posted October 2, 2006 I can not get pricing on line or availability? Is it me? Where is booked passenger registeration? Do we have to call to get pricing? I signed in and it gave me someone elses account info?
calmac Posted October 2, 2006 Author #22 Share Posted October 2, 2006 True, Shoreguy. I hope for new and more pictures of the ships. Maybe some videos and/or "virtual tours" of the ships as well. It can't be that long time 'till we see what the kids have done. :) They do seem to have added more pictures of the ships (and cabin layouts), including ones of the Pearl!!! For those of us "in the know" these are not the real thing - YET. The website might say that somewhere in small print but I didn't see it.

ialacruiser Posted October 2, 2006 #25 Share Posted October 2, 2006 The shore excursion section is SO much better. Good job, NCL! Although, I can't seem to register on the new site--it says my information is invalid. Still, it's really pretty and easy to navigate! Yay!
