yogimax Posted March 14, 2007 #59 Share Posted March 14, 2007
I would just like to point out that not everyone can slum it in an inside cabin. So many posts deal with the best locations of inside cabins. They go on, ad infinitum, of perks, locations, etc.. They post the cabin numbers, decks, blah, blah, blah... We are told, over and over again... "I WOULD NEVER CRUISE IN ANYTHING OTHER THAN AN INSIDE CABIN" Well, folks, there are some of us who cannot slum it in inside cabins. We consider a downgrade to a category 11 cabin to be "hell." We feel we will be laughed at when we post a question regarding a suite. turkeytoes75 Posted March 14, 2007 #60 Share Posted March 14, 2007 We started out in a ocean view room and have moved up to a balcony, it only costs us a few extra hundred. But we do make our kids stay in an inside room. So I guess we can be the best of both worlds. (Darkness in the day if wanted for a nap or the balcony to watch the water, eat and watch the sea, or balcony bonking!!!:)

Even the Cruise Director was floored when the answer from this young couple was "the lifeboat right outside our cabin"!!!!! The husband got the answer RIGHT BY THE WAY!!!! :o :o :o :o
RzrLens Posted March 14, 2007 #62 Share Posted March 14, 2007 I personally enjoy the inside cabins, although I have nothing to compare it to. We are penny pinchers (don't really have to be, but why spend more money than you have to?) and enjoy the thrill of knowing we got the best deal possible... including the room price. I get extremely sea sick very easily, so it's a no brainer to book a Riviera deck inside cabin midship. Works great for us, as we're not very picky and it's just me and DH anyway. However, I feel that if I had kids I would need something a bit bigger to accomodate all of the cr** you have to lug around when you travel with children. My only complaint is not having a window, but my DH LOVES it-- he would sleep all cruise if it weren't for me dragging him up to the Lido deck to see the day and EAT :)
Lisl123 Posted March 14, 2007 #63 Share Posted March 14, 2007
Right there with you. DH and I are 9A; kids are 4C ... the best of both worlds. We are creatures who live in the dark AND the light.
Damn, people's kids are living better than I am! I am going to have to peel some serious potatos to get that upgrade to two twin beds on the floor. :p Then again, I go on 3 or 4 cruises a year at the "slum" level ... so what the heck .... quantity over quality. All I do is sleep and shower in the room anyway ... well, sometimes other stuff too ...
50cruiser Posted March 14, 2007 #64 Share Posted March 14, 2007 I usuall cant tell the diference as im up about 7:00 am to walk deck off to breakfast then off to tour back just before sailing , change for dinner , off to eavning shows , down to cassino , midnight buffet or party then to room to bed. so most of time my room is dark anyway. like others I spend little time in my room. So I use my savings on more tours or shoping in ports. CARL
lakemom Posted March 14, 2007 #65 Share Posted March 14, 2007
Now that I am officaly an inside snob, I have a few questions for you inside pro's. Is there a corkage fee at dinner in my ripped jeans for my box of White Zin? Are there cabins for 6, or do I need to sneak jr on? What's the most Pabst Blue Ribbon you've ever carried on? Has anyone tried to put rogain and viagra on their chest for the hairy chest contest? I figure it will give me lots of hair that will really stand up and be noticed! Speaking of contests will any one notice this is my fourth newly wed game attempt? I'm not cheating, I just can't keep my marrige together in that trailer back in Mississippi.
 too funny! you have made my day! now I know what IS a fine wine wine and what jeans to wear how big of a suitcase for Jr. I think i will even wear my cabin number on a gold tone chain to wear at the pool like I see some folks who wear ALL their:cool: jewelry! cruisinjerseygirl Posted March 14, 2007 #71 Share Posted March 14, 2007 LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love it!!! I too cannot slum on an inside cabin and I have to tell you that I put down any and everyone that does and I think that they are cheap and trashy! HAHAHAHAHA! I am just kidding, it's called prefrence sheesh! Honestly...if we really want to go there we should post about how we slum on Carnival since everyone so much likes to put down Carnival althouh we loyal Carnivalists don't do that about the other lines...I guess in reality what it comes down to is class and apparently we have more class than others that sail on other lines and pay more! BTW, when I do finally sail another line, I will make sure to note down all of the little things I can about them and nitpick and post them on their boards to let them know! lol! cruisinjerseygirl Posted March 14, 2007 #74 Share Posted March 14, 2007 Oh did I mention there is not enough room in the inside cabin for bonking...good reason to have the balcony and be a blacony snob...for balcony bonking alone! OMG btw...people actually did it on the lifeboat, I thought the balcony alone was being adventerous but the lifeboat??? I think I would be scared it would fall off the boat or something!
