All Things Enchantment of the Seas

Recommended Posts

Our bad tour was called the Jungle Buggy tour and cave exploration.. We had to take a one hour bus ride( terrible roads), then go 9 miles on a very uneven dirt road with the bus driver doing about 60 mph. I felt sick. When we finally got there, the "Jungle" wasn't a whole lot different from any piece of land not cleared in a few years. Some pine trees, termite nest, etc.No animals, not even birds. Cave part was ok and lasted 20 minutes. It took the entire day to do this cruise and was a waste of precious time and money. Thanks, Teddy

That's ashame. It looked really interesting but I'm glad I found out before booking it. Thanks. :)

We went to Chops on the 3rd night of a 4 day. I would have preferred the last night and I found the menu so-so. Since we were with a large group we went to reg. dinner first and had a glass of wine, everybody loved the italian night. We found Chops average, my filet was good, my husband and daughters steaks were average. The spinach was not to our liking. The mississippi mud pie was yummy! Service was average. If we had a do over I would have skipped Chops.

Dinner in the dining room was better then expected. The cafe at the Solarium could use some help. Room service food was also lacking, but the cookies were good. We never ordered breakfast from room service, only late night food. Teens ordered everynight tons of food.

I loved the EOS but wished there was less smoking. The casino was extremely smoky, everynight when I would kiss my son good night he pushed me away and told me I was too smoky smelling. The bars seemed the same way. Maybe we just had alot of smokers on board.

We had conceirge service. Wish we had Julian. Carlos was very efficient but not overly personal. He made reference that Julian may be going to a different ship when shortly after getting back from his vacation.

The pools were packed on the sea day but you could still find chairs. Did not find to much chair hogging. I felt the Solarium was too hot everytime I went in there, looked beautiful just need more air circulating.

I have a question for all of you who are or were cruising Enchantment in June:

Did you book way ahead of time?? And, if you did, did you get any "Price Reductions" before departure.

I want to get an idea of my chances for next June.;)

If you go to outside the My Fair Lady dining room on either level the menu should be posted in the early afternoon.

Thank you. I will make sure to check there first.

We LOVE the Radiance Class ships (you can see in our signature), and wanted to do a Back-2-Back on one of those, but they are either in Alaska (Too  Cold)

We went to Alaska (on Radiance) in July (2003) and it was in the 80s most days. Definitely NOT cold. Unless you're looking to be able to sun and swim on deck and go snorkeling, Alaska is a really wonderful vacation.

I really loved the Radiance and would love to sail her to the Eastern Caribbean next time. But unless we go during school (or go without the kids) she won't be there. That's kind of a bummer. I really don't want to sail on the really large ships and Enchantment doesn't have an Eastern route.

Just found out a family wedding will be on EOS Feb 14-18,2008. Glad I found this thread. Is there a formal night on the 4-day cruise? This will be our 2nd cruise and our first Caribbean one. Looking forward to it. Thanks for all your help.

PennState-I think we were on the same cruise, 6/14-6/18. Did you have a son with you who goes to PennState. When my son was at one of the bingos and the card was blue the staff said what does blue stand for and my son yelled Penn State..the kid behind us yelled "yeah", he goes there. Don't know where my son came up with that..sports junkie I guess.

That would be me. :)

I'm currently a Junior majoring in Supply Chain & Information Systems.

Your son seemed like a nice kid. Later that night we were passing Adventure Ocean's windows on Deck 10 and he knocked on the glass and waved to me.

It didn't occur to me to even say Penn State when the announcer said "what does blue stand for?" and I'm about as hardcore Penn State as there is.

Glad to see someone on here already who was on my cruise. :)

Like Cprincess, I am looking for an answer to whether there are safes and fridges on the inside cabins? We're staying in one of the newer cabins on deck 3 if that makes a difference - thanks to all for the great info :)

thanks for all the info. we are going on the ship next June with the kids for the 5 day cruise to grand caymen and cozumel. I picked the JS since it was most similar to our suite on DCL. Im looking forward to it! Is there a way to know when you book Chops what the theme is for the other dining rooms. I think I would like to pick formal night so we dont have to get too formal.. :)

Loved Enchantment!!! :) What a beautiful ship, and so sophisticatedly decorated. Anyone ever have Lucian from Romania as a waitor? What a sweet guy, with probably the most beautiful blue eyes I have ever seen!! We were on deck 5 at table 45 by the window. Ah memories.... ;)

Yes, we just got off a 4-night last month and there was one formal night. :)

We had an inside on deck 2. Yes there was a safe, but no fridge.

Oh by the way, here are my pics from last month:

We were on her for the first time a couple of months ago and had a great time. We've been on the Mariner a couple of times and the Sovereign quite a bit and while we like them both, Enchantment has risen to the top of our list. The perfect size for us as we don't need or want all of the bells and whistles of the Mariner or that size ship. I'll put on my flame proof jacket and say that Mariner reminds us of a big floating hotel. A grand hotel to be sure, but still a hotel. :D The Enchantment has been stretched by almost 90 feet so she isn't a small ship and there's plenty to see and do onboard her.

You'll have a great time. Just get out there and enjoy!!:D

Tanker 4

Totally agree.....LOVE Enchantment!

Thanks, Laurie, for starting this thread! Only 3 1/2 weeks to go! Can you believe it? I didn't know if it would ever get here. But now all of these posts and pictures are making me wish the time would go faster! :D

Ok, I know you are tired of these cabin questions....but...... does anyone know if cabin 7586 on Deck 7 is in the new section? It looks dead center on the deck plans. Thanks!!

if it will help any, refer to post 83.. the room numbers will only vary by the first number which is of course the deck booked.. hope that helps:)

Thanks so much! Looks like I missed the new room by being about a dozen rooms down. Oh well! The old ones aren't bad at all.. was just thinking a change of scenery might be fun. Thanks for all the great info!

Also - if there are any divers going on the 9/24 cruise on EOS, I wouldn't mind some tips.. We are porting in Belize and Cozumel (and Key West, of course - but not enough time to dive there probably). I'm a little wet behind the ears (no pun intended) as I'm doing my open water check-out in about a week. Any advice/hints for first-time a first time diver would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! :)

I am January 7th on the 5 nighter. I am bringing my two kids plus my nephew. PLUS there was a C&A coupon for this cruise. If you booked it, look for the coupon.

Great idea to start this thread. We will be cruising 9/15/07. Hate to ask another dress code/dining room question, but here goes. I have a 16 yr old daughter & I was wondering if denim capris (no rips/distressing) are appropriate for the dining room. I know it says no shorts, but what about nice bermudas? I figured they are not all that different from capris. All of our dinners are listed as casual w/the exception of the 1 formal night. Just trying to make sure she has enough "appropriate" stuff to wear.

Can't wait until September!!!
