We are sailing on the Legend in April 08

 

Is the Legend a nice ship? Old, I know.

 

How are the Oceanview Cabins? Hoping for a Balcony but Oceanview now

 

How is the Casino? Food? Entertainment?

 

Is there a Concierge Lounge? Any other info would be appreciated.

Well we were on the Legend last November.

 

She is a sister ship to the Rhapsody (our first cruise). The Legend is considered small by todays standards but that in my book is not always bad.

 

I did see some "wear and tear" but nothing bad. Except for the mini-golf - it was a mess.

 

My daughter and I were in an oceanview - deck 3 mid ship. I prefer balconies but she was treating me to this one :D so it was fine. The window is large and the cabin was plenty spacious for the two of us.

 

The casino was stingy.... I did not win anything - not even a small $50.00 pot. Oh well. The food was pretty good. Better on Serenade. Can't remember Rhapsody but seems it was ok or I would remember it was bad.

 

The entertainment (what I saw) was also good. The ABBA tribute was outstanding. The magician (dont remember his name) was also very good. Don't miss Quest.... I laughed till I rolled on the floor.

 

Doesnt really matter if they have a concierge lounge or not..... you must be in a suite to use it. Sorry.

We were on the 8/23/07 sailing out of Rome. Legend of the Links has been re-done and is good condition. However, it is challenging to putt with 25 knot winds coming across the aft deck area. Food was good but not great, which we made up for by some really nice lunches ashore. The service aboard was very good, especially our waiter (Lucille). Laundry service was very good. The ship is showing some age but not bad. There was a slight sewer smell by the public ladies room on deck six. Vacuum waste systems are tough to maintain! Our inside cabin was comfortable and in very good condition. I did fairly well in the casino, but not as good as on Celebrity- Galaxy. This ship is big but not too big that we felt crowded, and we never overwhelmed any port we visited with a crush of people. Shore excursions arranged through the ship were interesting and fun.

She is a lovely ship- yes, 'old' but that is not necessarily a bad thing. Old and Classy in very good condition. Lots of light and glass. The Golf course has been totally renovated in Apr07. Yes, there is a Concierge Lounge where the old Card room was on Deck 7. Food good - my only complaint is the lack of a Speciality restaurant for variety. Casino paid out more for me on Legend than on any other cruise I have been on!
