Star-Man Posted November 22, 2007 #126 Share Posted November 22, 2007 Looking forward to the video Star Man. Photoshop is giving me some problems at the moment. Should have the animation done later today
Star-Man Posted November 22, 2007 #127 Share Posted November 22, 2007 As promised, one Sun Princess animation of her arrival in Fremantle. She certainly did the while thing slower than the smaller, more nimble Pacific Princess (Ive still got that one somewhere if you want to see it again) Let each frame load, then it will play at proper speed

gooch47 Posted November 22, 2007 Author #137 Share Posted November 22, 2007 It was kind of close quarters on the turn. We watched it from our balcony. Happy Thanksgiving to any Americans reading this! We had a traditional Turkey dinner on the menu. I had scallops, my hubby had buffalo. So much for standard fare. Wonderful, wonderful time at Rottnest Island. We saw the little Quokkas. In fact, one sat under our table as we were eating lunch. The scenery was magnificent. I can't wait to see the photos on DH's laptop. We walked around after dinner and were amazed at the number of people who came out to see the ship. A darling little girl said to a woman near us, "I sure like your boat."

shortstuffy Posted November 23, 2007 #143 Share Posted November 23, 2007 Nice pics of the Sun Princess entering Fremantle Harbour here at this link http://www.thewest.com.au/default.aspx?MenuID=77&ContentID=47991 You can get an idea of the size of the Sun Princess by comparing it to the dolphin jumping the bow wave in pic 17! Kiwi Kruzer Posted November 23, 2007 #144 Share Posted November 23, 2007 Hi Linda, Sounds like you are having a great time, apart from the usual things that go wrong on a cruise.Trust you had a great time in Perth. I was wondering with being in port for 2 days if Princess offerred any inland/overnight tours from the ship,or were all they just day tours. The value of the internet was brought home to me yet again today when a postcard arrived in the mail from friends on board. It was posted in Darwin, telling about the anchor being stuck in the Whitsundays and I knew about it,(through reading the posting on the board) before their postcard arrived. Your 2 day rest should get you ready for when you "turn the corner" and head across The Great Australian Bight. That should be lots of fun. All the best. No not all. Its just like the Tasman and Bass Straight in fact when we cruised the Bight it was a smooth as glass. It's not a real cruise if you don't feel the "motion of the ocean"..........
gooch47 Posted November 24, 2007 Author #147 Share Posted November 24, 2007 It was probably the cute little dolphin that escorted us all the way into port. My hubby got some fabulous video of him. No, there were no overnights offered. We had hoped there would be so we could see more of the interior. But it didn't happen. Yesterday we went to ... darn, senior moment again ... a city south of Fremantle where we toured their canals. It was supposed to be an "eco" cruise but all we got to see were extremely expensive homes. I asked my DH where we went wrong. The houses were fabulous. We also visited a Forest Heritage Center. But the best part wasn't even advertised. We stopped at a place for tea and scones. I was in 7th heaven. Today we were at Bunbury. The tours were fine but the operators were extremely confused. We went one place we weren't supposed to (The Dophin Discovery Center) and missed the Gnomes. Tomorrow is Albany and we have another 9-hour tour to a tree-top walk. SouthAussie100 Posted November 24, 2007 #148 Share Posted November 24, 2007 glad to hear things have brightened up a bit for you Linda. I've never been there but I've heard that Albany is lovely. Lots of strawberries grown around that area apparently. cheers ness
gooch47 Posted November 28, 2007 Author #149 Share Posted November 28, 2007 We're in South Australia, just crossed the "Bight" from Albany to Adelaide. The internet has been down since before Albany. We spent today touring wine country with two wine tastings and a fabulous lunch. But it was a very long day. So we cancelled our next tour in Melbourne which was THREE more wine tastings. We're wined out. The crossing was quite smooth. A little rocky, but not too bad. We're going to attend the "Most Travelled Passengers" luncheon tomorrow. I understand there are only 80 Elite passengers on board. We have 230 days with Princess not counting this cruise.
Rare arxcards Posted November 28, 2007 #150 Share Posted November 28, 2007 We're in South Australia, just crossed the "Bight" from Albany to Adelaide. The internet has been down since before Albany. Not much satellite coverage in that area it seems. The deckcam has been down too. You should have a pretty smooth passage to Melbourne too!
