No smoking night

On the Majesty last week, 12/24-12/28 we actually had a no smoking night in the casino. I didn't think they would pull it off, but they did.

We had the same thing on Serenade last July, after midnight you could though.

How did they inform everyone that it was a "no smoking night" in the casino? Was it listed in the Compass, or did they just inform people who tried to "light up" in the casino? Were there signs? Just wondering if this event occured on our recent Navigator cruise and if we missed it...

It was listed in our compass on the Enchantment and they re-enforced the message with announcements in the casino throughout the night. The first message drew an overwhelming round of applause and cheers. My first experience with this on RCI. I did like it.

.just didnt think a ship would take this drastic of a step to appease non smokers...great job RC

 

I don't see it as "appeasing" but being fair to give everyone at least a partial opportunity to enjoy the casino without smoke. My non-smoking will not bother the person playing next to me, but smoking might.

 

Put the cigarette down and throw the bones already.

My husband and I recently quit (September 17th) and I think it will be great to be able to go into the casino for an hour or so of slots and not come out smelling like I used to :rolleyes: I look forward to planning my limited casino time to the non-smoking night.

They have that for a while now....not every ship but they do it.

 

Out of my last 4 cruises they did it on 3.

I can't stand being in a smoke filled room. I'll look forward to a smoke free casino on my next cruise. I hope they add another smoke free night on longer cruises.

 

Illinois went smoke free! Clean air in all public buildings!! Well, as clean as could be and happy it will be smoke free.:)

This is my fear - I can usually avoid gambling because I want to avoid the smoke but if it was non-smoking I'm afraid I couldn't resist, LOL...

 

I think it's a great idea for a night or a few hours - heck I'd be happy if it was permanent but I don't expect that (or need the temptation to stay in the casino)!

On our December cruise on Enchantment of the Seas I was pleased to see that on one evening the casino was designated a no-smoking area. I was, however, disappointed to find the casino was almost empty that night. Perhaps some people missed the announcement or had already begun to avoid the casino because of all the smoke there on the other evenings, but I would have been much happier if the rest of us non-smokers had taken more advantage of the non-smoking environment.:)

You're right, Bill - it needs to be better advertised.;)

 

I am not a gambler - the most I do is put a $20 in the $0.25 slots.:o Once, that's gone, I'm gone. But hey, I came out ahead on the Vision - I gambled $20 and left with $22.50. Hey big spender......:D

On our Radiance of the Sea cruise last May to Hawaii, we had 2 nights that were non smoking in the casino. It was so packed you couldn't move in there. My Family DH,DD,SIL all went and had a good time. We keeped hearing people say if you would do this every night they would be there.

Many of us stay away from the casino because of the smoking.

 

Ban smoking and we will be there!!!!

I dont smoke (quit 12 yrs ago....) but must admit I am in the casino whether it is smoke free or not.

 

On our 11/23 Brilliance Mediterranean cruise they had a smoke free night. It was posted in the Compass and there were signs as you walked in. It was quite full that night and very very nice !!!!! Not sure why they cant do it 1/2 and 1/2 ??? ......say a 7 night cruise is 3 nights smoke free and 4 not...
