I was wondering, what is there for people 18 to 20 to do on board? They are too old for Club O2 and too young for the adult bars/clubs. Can they go in to the clubs if they do not drink?

Yes, they can go to the clubs and drinking is not a requirement. Sometimes we would take our own drinks to the club or even order sodas. The ships will also gladly take your money in the casinos if you are 18 or older.

We weren't allowed to go into a club on the sensation. Our daughter was 17 and my wife and I wanted to go inwith her and they wouldn't let us. My 17 year old daughter told us after the cruise that she didn't want to go on another cruise again until she was "of age"

We are sure gonna miss her in 3 weeks:D

They can get into any of the clubs and the casino, they aren't allowed to order alcohol though. Our daughter was 20 last year, she had a blast going out to the clubs every night, and made alot friends, she's still in contact with.

I went on a cruise when I was 20 and would go into the bars and lounges with my parents without it being any real issue. When I was with my parents (in the dining room, casino, on the decks, in the bars), I had no problem ordering drinks with them also. In the lounges, I never had anyone approach me and ask my age, and I actually look quite young for my age. As long as you're not drawing a lot of attention to yourself or acting ridiculous I don't think it'd be a problem at all to go into the clubs, just dont try and order a drink.

They rome the ship, smoke cigarettes and look for alcohol or people to buy them drinks like my kids used to. Isnt' that what all teens like to do????

ARE U CRAZY ??? NOOOOOOOOOOOO My daughter did/does not roam the ship, does not smoke cigarettes or look for anyone to buy her drinks...

My daughter does goes into the disco and drinks soda, hangs out on the Lido Deck watching movies or concerts, enjoys the shows and lays by the pool on sea days....

My 17 and 20 year old girls last year had a blast. They met lots of people, went to the clubs (17 year old used 20 year olds extra ID for entry) , and yes hoped people would buy them a drink. They had a blast. They have always managed to make lasting friendships on all the cruises they have been on.

Yes, they can do anything (including playing in the casino), but they may have to leave the disco. Not sure if it turns to "adults" only at 11 or 12 pm or not.

My DD has been cruising since she was 15 and has never had a problem finding something to do (only 2 cruises has she had a friend/boyfried with her).

We go to a couple of shows, but not all of them. We don't do the "activities" on sea days.

Then again, she's perfectly happy sitting and reading for hours on end. Guess that's what happens when you don't have tv when you're growing up!

Maybe someone can give me advice...what is a 17 year old supposed to do when the other five kids in the group all traveling together are between 18 & 20? Going to Club O2 alone isn't an option...the reason we travel with other families is so the kids can have fun together. (Yes, the adults too. :D )

My 'kids' are 25 and 22 now, but both found that 18-20 age group to be somewhat neglected. Excluded from some things for being too young, way too old for the teen group, and not an easy way to connect with others the same age, because there isn't anything geared toward them. However, this did not keep my two from cruising. At times, it was kind of nice because they spent some time with us that they normally wouldn't. They did ultimately connect with a group their age, and hung out together too (they are pretty good buddies for sibs.)

Don't know if it's still a possibility, but once my DD was over 21 & DS was 19, we signed something that allowed him to drink beer (but no mixed drinks were allowed). They put some sticker on his card. (This was on a different line, maybe CC doesn't do this, don't know.) I guess some may find this appalling, but I figured I'd rather him drinking on board where I can monitor his tab to see his consumption, he wouldn't be driving & his sister would be around (and I know she doesn't drink much). This allowed him to feel more a part of the night crowd.

My 18 year old cousin sailed with us last year. He was able to gamble in the casino. He played miniature golf. Worked out in the gym. Swam in the pool. Watched the shows with us at night. He also spent a lot of time going back and forth eating between Tiffany's, the pizzeria and the poolside grill. :)

Again...She did not say that she allows them.. or is ok with them doing this...It is just a fact that alot of kids tend to do things their not supposed to do especially on a vacation like a cruise...should they..no ...do we raise kids to act that way...? no... Does it happen...of course....I was just defending her from the comment about what kind of mother she is.....

I think my most boring cruise was the one I took when I was 18. It was the only time I'd cruised without my sister, normally we hang out together as there is only a 2 year age difference, but she was studying abroad, so we went without her. We were on a Carnival, also. I really couldn't find much to do, and it's kind of a gray area as far as what you can and can't do.

I do remember using my sister's passport a few times to get into the clubs. She used her license, and I used her passport, we would stagger the arrivals so they wouldn't notice 2 of the same name right after each other. I don't remember though if this was to get to the adult club when I was still 17, or if there was somewhere that was 21+ and I was 19, but they didnt' really care too much.

Champ... you are right on the money. There were plenty of kids with the same thoughts when I was in middle school... let alone being 18.

Come to think of it, regardless of age the primary objectives always include sex and booze, no? Btw, I wish I had went to your middle school..
